It is with profound sadness and eternal gratitude that I note the passing of Rush Limbaugh today. A truly great American in all senses of that designation, a brilliant radio artist and the de facto leader of true conservatism in the United States for 30 years, he was truly one of a kind.
Rush’s wife, Kathryn, opened his radio program today with a heartfelt statement to his 25 million+ listeners. I won’t deny shedding a tear or two as I listened to it and tried to take in the impact his loss will have. Talk radio as it has existed for the last generation existed because of Rush. His influence in the country is unrivaled in the history of the media; not just of radio, but of all media in this country’s history. No other single figure even comes close.

With his passing, there is no obvious replacement, no conservative pundit capable of taking up the torch and keeping the fires of conservatism burning. With no true national voice to guide the way, the loss of this great American will be every bit as impactful as the loss of Donald Trump and his presidency.
God Bless Rush Limbaugh for all he has done for us, God Bless his family and God Bless America.
That, sadly, is all.
“I listened to Rush for years, but since the election now listen 3 hours daily to Steve Bannon.
Steve Bannon can carry the torch!”
Just finished listening to Bannon on his War Room Pandemic televised show online this morning (10am-12 noon). Everyone should listen to his program. Another great man, and a fighter. Another Renaissance man. I love him too, but today I deeply mourn Rush’s passing.
Oh my... So sad... President Trump just called in to Fox News to talk about Rush.
Started listening to Rush after exiting the military back in 1991. From the first segment of that program, I was hooked, and have been listening ever since.
His voice has become a staple in every day, the voice of a father, a teacher, a mentor, a philosopher and the ultimate statesman of my lifetime.
I love you Rush. Thank you. You will be sorely and forever missed.
By their words, you shall know them. Every one of those "vile, gloating comments" and the "hardly concealed rejoicing by the left" will serve to seal the deal with any who doubted that the leftist libtards are evil, unalloyed evil. If G-d had any doubt about the ultimate resting place for such heartless fiends, they have removed any of it. Before they turn cold, when their own miserable lives cease, the brass nameplate with theirs already inscribed will be in place in Hell.
I was so thrilled when I turned on the radio at lunch and heard Rush’s voice. Then, when it dropped to commercial break, I said “Well, THAT sounded different.” Immediately stopped to look it up online, and saw that he had passed. A truly sad day for America.
Ditto.
I, too, have listened for 32 years. Condolences to all of us.
Has the transcript of Kathryn’s announcement been published yet?
I don’t know. I’ll try to find a vid of it.
Rush had stamina, wit, courage, intellect, and huge sense of humor. My prayers go up for his wife and family first, and then to a grieving Limbaugh audience of multi-millions.
RIP
He gave us the blueprint for defeating communism, Trump executed it before he was defrauded out of a second term. We owe it to him to beat back the Marxist horde once again. God Bless Rush Limbaugh.
He passed too early. So sad.
Thank you. My heart is breaking. We knew this day would come. But, we are a better people because of his life. He is already missed.
A beautiful tribute, AB. Thank you for putting your thoughts into words.
God loaned us his very best when he let us have Rush !!
And so now we mourn our loss and I cry as I write this but now is the time to celebrate Rush and all that he meant to us. Please God take him into heaven and care for him. He was always a great American and deserves the very best. Your fight is over Rush, rest in peace knowing that you spoke truth to power and gave us all hope.
“He’s our leader. What will we do without him?”
How about we use what he has taught us? How about we move on in a positive way since crying and hand wringing solves nothing?
How about we celebrate the life of this great American instead of mourning his death?
Rest in Peace Rush. You were a great American. You will be sorely missed. Thank you for the many years of conservative talk.
Amen.
Thank you. I will do as you say, ... but not yet. I will mourn and cry and feel lost and sad for a time. That is only natural. I miss Rush and I will allow myself to feel that loss.
I hope when I die, that at least one person will be sad I am no longer with them.
