Last year’s Super Bowl, between the San Francisco 49ers and Kansas City Chiefs, was shown in 4K, for Fox’s broadcast of the game. But this year’s game won’t be, according to a report Thursday.
The Verge reported, based on confirmation from CBS Sports Digital, that Super Bowl LV will not be streaming in 4K or HDR. CBS told the site that it “remains committed to offering more live sports in 4K and HDR in the future.”
Why not? It appears to be due to a delay in deployment of the technology, caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

Who cares?
Sports/entertainment is downstream from survival.
4K makes the empty stadium and cardboard people look bad. If they wanted it in 4K, it would be.
Whether it’s 4K or not won’t have any impact on how much I enjoy watching the game. If you know what I mean.

I was watching a YouTube Superbowl from the 1970s, hard to believe had bad the picture was back then.
Hope it is a good Super Bowl, certainly two great quarterbacks, should be a fun finish. I like Mahomes but would never bet against Brady.
The last Super Bowl I watched was Cincinnati-SF part 2. What was that, 30 years ago? When ads and superfluous pandering became the primary interests to many, I found other interests.
I can just imagine the ads this year especially if regular TV is any indication.

I watched the KC Chiefs kick the asses of the NY Buffalo Bills last night.
The KC players all stood for the anthem, the NY Buffalo team stayed in their locker room. Red State Team kicked their blue asses. Super Bowl features teams from two red states and will be played in a red state.
Packers also stayed in the locker room during the zoom call National Anthem. Bucs stayed on the field
Maybe it’s a trend.
