Several years ago I attended a dinner at a five star restaurant given by a very famous conservative organization - to remain unnamed. One of the movers and shakers of Inside-the-Beltway.
One guest entered and was immediately mobbed by the others. This guest was a very famous “Republican” pollster - also to remain unnamed. Curiosity compelled me to approach this great man and snatch whatever pearls of wisdom I could. It is worth noting that this “Republican” pollster who was holding court that evening was one of the most virulent Never Trumpers in DC in 2016.
Like a timorous student of Aristotle at the Lyceum, I asked the Republican Pollster what he learned about the current political state in America. He fixed his wise gaze upon me and responded, “Liberals hate us. We do not hate them.”
He quickly turned his back to me to dispense more wisdom to another inquisitor. I walked away feeling not wiser but bewildered. When I returned to my table sitting next to my wife I remarked, “Why does this man earn so much money for discovering the obvious - or maybe it is not so obvious to GOP DC denizens.”
After all, a little more than a decade earlier the GOP took control of the House for the first time in 40 years. Let me repeat this for those younger than 35 years old. Republicans had not been the majority in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1954 to 1994! For those of us who recall those days know that the Democrats did not take this well. They immediately started fear and hate mongering.

As a Christian, I have no problem hating what is evil. I think we’re supposed to do that.
I’m an American first and foremost, and everything a distant second.
And they can’t have this for free, nor painlessly.
I will modify my prior post to point out... the one remaining bastion of systemic racism in society today, where activists are working on institutionalizing racism... is the academy... where racism is being re-branded as “anti-racism”... just as the fascism of national socialists is being re-branded as “anti-fascism”.
The upside-down world created by the haters given cover in the schools... is the cancer that’s spreading through the body politic today...
I’m willing to do whatever the hell it takes to win...lie, cheat and steal...
These are insane hybrid freaks/communists/soulless creatures that need to be destroyed.

It’s ingrained in a lot of the Left, old ‘60s and ‘70s liberal hippies who hated their conservative parents, or were badgered by the Left to hate their conservative parents. Their conservative parents usually didn’t hate them, just despaired over what they had become.
This conflict is playing out on a national political stage, just as it did back then.
Don’t let them goad you into what they want...
Truth and justice are on your side... and are still the most powerful weapon that you have...
The riots this summer... intended to disarm you... and “level the playing field”... by dragging you into the mud.
Instead... demand the corruption end...

When it comes to Never-Trumpers, I group the Lincoln Project with Mitt Romney as the foulest of the foul. Ben Sasse is half-a-step from that classification as well.
I don’t “hate” a lot of liberals. Many are fine people that I like and respect.
I despise Leftists, because they want to impinge on and remove my liberty. Them I hate. Most especially the hard core ones.
I have come to the conclusion that hating leftists is not morally wrong. They are under the sway of satan. They would deal great suffering and death to many people. A Christian has a duty to protect the innocent. The light of Christianity would go out in most of the world if America falls. It is natural and normal to hate evil forces that would destroy the world.

My thoughts are similar to yours but I was never a Never Trumper, just a Trump agnostic. I was a member of Free Republic since before 9-1-1 but was banned because I didn’t belong to the religious cult of Trumpism.
But now I believe Trump is a greater president than even Reagan. Reagan was certainly a better communicator, but Trump is more of a doer. I’m not putting down Reagan’s accomplishments at all.
Rage is the emotion that drives them all, just as rage is what drives Satan's hatred of God and humanity.
We must fight these people with everything we've got. We must never give up. There can be no compromise with evil, and the modern Left is demonstrably, irrefutably evil in the strictest sense. If we compromise with evil we become evil, and evil does not become "less evil" in spite of good intentions to "compromise" with it.
It's clear that Leftists worship evil; late term abortion, gender reassignment surgery for the young, the vilification and destruction of those charged with protecting us in our towns, the elevation of criminals, idiots and lazy people over good, productive, law-abiding citizens - so on and so forth. To call people who work to push those agendas down our throats "liberal" is idiotic. I'm tired of non-leftist writers making this mistake. Language matters, something leftists have figured out very well.
I loathe leftists with every fiber of my being. That is just, and well deserved.

Reagan brought the country out of the malaise of the 1970s (”It is morning in America”). He defeated the Soviet Union, ended the Cold War, and along with it the impending threat of nuclear Armageddon. These are no small things. Younger generations don’t remember “duck and cover” drills under our school desks.
It is hard for me to rate Reagan vs Trump because they lived in such different eras and different historical contexts.
