*sigh* OK. On Friday, 6/26, I underwent an upper GI endoscopic exam for my Hemo/oncology specialist, to check for varices, bleeders, portal hypertension, etc. After I came out of the fog, they unhooked all with wires, tubes, etc., and allowed me to dress. The endo doc came by and said, with the exception of some 'changes' due to GERD (which has been treated for years), nothing was amiss. In the midst of shaking the fuzz out of my ears, they mentioned that I'd have a follow-up for it. Here's where it gets good: They called me this afternoon to confirm the follow-up, and informed me that I didn't necessarily have to come to the hospital for it, it could be conducted by the doctor over the phone. BUT - because I live on one side of the state line (AL), I mean literally five minutes away, I would still have to be present on the GA side of the state line in order for them to do it, meaning I'd have to drive across the bridge to be in a GA zip code. FURTHER: they want me to be in front of a place where I can readily give them a street address to confirm my location.
No. Hasn’t happened to me.
Maybe you can build a stage backdrop with a Georgia street address.

Every year I have a Medicare checkup. They always ask the same questions, to determine if I am cognizant, and if I am depressed. It is a complete waste of time, and I have told them that I have the testing routine memorized and well know how to cheat. I was ok with going in since I am retired, and my doctor gets paid, but wow, what a waste!

I have had clinical depression in the past lasting a few years. It is an awful disease and causes many issues. I know a one page questionnaire would not be sufficient to diagnose my depression.
Sounds like they have had an issue with insurance denying people near the state line.

They can’t do anything without a Form 27B/6...
The doctor is not licensed in Alabama. He can’t practice medicine, even tele-medicine, across state lines. He has to have reasonable evidence that he only conducts business in his state.
We have the same issues with some of our patients who live outside of our state.

There are geolocators that apps can use to make sure you are in the right state but sounds like they dont use it.

I guess he has Drs that are licensed in multiple states. Not really sure what he is doing.
Maybe the Dr is not licensed to practice medicine in Alabama?

Crossing state boundaries via telemedicine initially and generally requires holding a license in each state where services are provided. Some states have joined telemedicine practice agreements.
This scenario is going in at my wife’s hospital where the hospital wants the staff to be licensed in the neighboring state so staff can call patients across state lines. Most states are in a compact where this isn’t necessary but Oregon isn’t one of them.
None of the staff want to do this.
