The university ended the employment of Dr. Neal-Boylan on June 19 after 10 months in her role as dean of the Solomont School of Nursing. As with all such decisions, it was made in the best interest of the university and its students.
The cancel culture that is rampant on American college campuses right now has just claimed another victim. A nursing dean at the University of Massachusetts, Lowell, has reportedly been fired after saying in an email that everyones life matters.
Where does this end?

I can't help but feel one reason for this decision is that HR and upper management does not want to deal with complaints about what some employee supposedly said to another, so to avoid all that, we are being kept apart.
I don't really blame them for thinking this way. I can't say I really trust some of my colleagues.
Now, about that honest dialouge everyone thinks we should have.
Bump
There must be some legal recourse for sh*t like this happening...........
a state university or agency cannot legally fire an employee for his/her 1st Amendment free expression (especially regarding matters off the job)
Very good points! The Commie virus has helped corporations in many ways. Saving huge money by eliminating office space, travel and now law suits. Staying home could also help to rid them of most if not all of their HR staffs!
Not too big a step from being fired for saying X to being fired for refusing to say Y. I predict that that’s next.
She should look the president/chancellor of the university in the eyes and ask if their life doesn’t matter....
everyones life matters.
Where does this end?

When no lives matter.
Depends on the position, whether it is an “at will” position or a contract position, for example. Be careful to read and understand any hiring documents you sign.
Probably not a bad idea while this is bubbling out there.
When the marxists are in charge, NO lives will matter
If you can get fired for free speech, it’s not free speech.
These cases need to work their way to SCOTUS
Would one get fired for saying All Black Lives Matter? Or for saying Black Deaths Matter?
Well, it is communist Massachusetts, after all.
In all actuality, I work with a good set of reasonable people these days compared to places I have worked at in the past. Yet, I am still afraid.
I’m just hoping we get some sort of allowance to buy office furniture, stand up desks, etc. and that we get a work cell phone. I hate using miy own personal cell and getting work calls on it when I’ve taken the afternoon off.
And I have a lot of vacation days because it’s not as if I want to go on an actual vacation out of state and risk being forced into quarantine when I get back.
Never discuss politics at work.
“________ Lives Matter” is as political as it gets. What’s wrong with people?
George’s Life Mattered.
I matter. You matter. Yo mama matter.
There has to be a Federal judge somewhere who will prevent this state institution rom violating this woman’s free speech rights
