Here it is, Friday again already. How can an entire week go by so quickly in such abnormal times?
Its a good thing its a long holiday weekend as Ive reached my capacity for stupidity, lies, fake news, and mindless lockdowns. No, thats not true; my capacity has been exceeded, by far. Im now totally supportive of civil disobedience in any manner you deem appropriate.
How ironic that were headed into a weekend holiday dedicated to the remembrance of those who gave their lives to defend the freedoms that up until now weve pretty much taken for granted.
"Simply put, there is no pandemic exception to the U.S. Constitution and its Bill of Rights."
Thats it. Thats all I have to say today on the matter of the governments ongoing destruction of lives and livelihoods.
Im sure Ill feel better tomorrow well no, Im not sure, but hopeful. A news-free 4 day weekend might help; please feel free to carry on without me.
THANK GOD IT’S FRI ....
ah, what the hell.
I work for USPS and my days off are Fri and Sat so it does mean something to me—and vacation coming soon...
Yes, people need to save their jobs and businesses because Dem Governors will let you wither on the vine.
IT working person in manufacturing and I am looking forward to a three day weekend.
Its still Friday, if you work in a hospital
Had yesterday off. Enjoyed it thoroughly even though household chores were part of the mix. But it’s back to the hard slog today until Wednesday.
From the get go, I’ve been very worried abt the effects this mess was going to have on our economy and national psychology.
And one doesn’t have to be a brain surgeon to know the left was going to exploit it in a very ugly fashion. And to know the idiots who follow them and roll over for them would follow and roll over. I’m done with evils, tyrants and idiots. We’ve got way too many in this country.
That’s what being “retired” is like.
You never know what day it is, because it doesn’t matter.
That’s why I’m not “retired” anymore.
Friday - Bars open in Texas - what fun today will be.
I’m in IT and have been working from home for almost 8 years now and I’m looking forward to this 3 day weekend!
Would rather work on Sat/Sun and take off during the week.
M-F stores are less croweded, you can go to the bank/doctor/dentist. Less crowds when doing the recreational fun stuff, water/snow sking etc...
I work in a hospital in NY......it’s empty and going bankrupt. COVID cases never came in numbers that justified shutting the place down...
The real fun tonight will start about 1 to 2 hours before closing when most everyone will be tanked and no longer give a flying whatever what any social distancing rules are and start to act out their pent up frustrations on anyone of authority real or perceived or on anyone getting in their face. Coming from a former upscale red neck liquor bar doorman and bouncer for quite a few years. Have seen it all. Might be best to keep your distance more so than to social distance the closer it gets to closing time.
And the panic porn on TV kept everyone else away.
I WAS in IT. Worked from home for 17 years and then got laid off.
It was a godsend to get away from my Chinese overlords.
Excellent post.
We can’t go to church, no Friday lunches at our favorite and no leisurely strolls on Thursday to buy our weekly groceries or the monthly trip to Costco. No bible study at the church during the week. No bridge games with our wives and the men’s bridge group and the women’s bridge groups.
As we told a neighbor yesterday walking on our street, the only time mark that hasn’t changed is our garbage pickup on Wednesday mornings.
He laughed and said they had a mad scramble to get their garbage containers to the curb this Wednesday after they heard a big garbage truck.
He said if their garbage containers were not on the street on Tuesday at dinner time, to call them. I said we would if we remembered.
My niece is a nurse at a hospital in Wisconsin. The hospital is empty, her pay has been cut (luckily, she still has a job), and she is afraid it will go bankrupt, as well. No Covid patients, and people with serious conditions have no where to go! WTH????
“Friday” was made Friday, because in some old dusty collection of scribblings bound together as one book, promoted the idea of a ‘day’ of rest, since it was said that ‘deity’ rested for ‘a day’, and had nothing to do with man’s toils.
THURSDAY is the new FRIDAY.
