Temperature is down with the Norks so I'm beginning to think so. He's certainly no Chamberlin. He would have left Japan alone to let them be the big brother of Asia. The Hearst News Syndicate would have been told to go pound sand.
?
Lessay you could travel back in time:
Let’s say you have an Ipad and are in one of the Normandy-bound landing craft as it churns it’s way towards the beach.
Using moving clips and photos, you show the nervous men Europe in 2019 —the future they are about to fight for.
Would they run up the beach and scale those clifss..?
Results matter:
I WOULD NOT.
Nope. Japan was engaged in rape and pillage in China, Indonesia. Britain was already engaged against Japan and we were giving aid to Britain. Japan had decided to go to war against the US years earlier in their long term plans.
The war was nothing more than a continuation of WWI. Some of the players shifted sides, but the US involvement in WWII was inevitable. Only thing that might have changed would have been the time frame.
This is going to be a fun thread.
The real question is can he prevent WWIII?
No.
Germany was sinking our ships, eventually enough would have been enough and we would have gotten dragged into the war.
Even if W Europe did not deserve savings, the Jews did.
Also, a Russia in control of W Europe would not have been a good thing.
Now I’d like to continue exchanging informative and articulate posts with the very smart and learned people of this board.
But I just started watching “Blackenstein” and well, you know, priorities!! :)
I read a book by one of the German generals. He commanded the fighter division of the Luftwaffe.
He said Germany was around 2 years away from being ready for the war. Despite early victories they knew they would lose a protracted war.
I think Yamamoto thought the same.
some of the trumpster Kool-Aid drinkers are as delusional as the hopenchangers were
Inevitable because the power of the US is in the hands of a group of people whose values utterly differ from our own.
We are extracted from forests and farms, then send off to hot, barren deserts half a world away.
Then, very expensively, we fight wars that have NOTHING to do with us.
Not one Somali likes us more now than BlackHawkDown days, indeed we are STILL fighting there, are now they are taking over the state of Minnesota and Maine.
We didn't help things in WW1 and looking at Europe now, we didn't help in WW2, either.
And here's the amazing thing:
Far from being a pacifist, I am a jingoist.
I just have a brain, and I think the job of American men is to fight on behalf of OUR interests.
That is why history is fun to learn.
So many “what ifs”
No WWI - no WWII
No insane WWI peace treaty with Germany. No WWII
No habla englais?
Germany and Japan were stupid for thinking they could take us on. Trump would have given them a warning that’s more convincing.
No insane WWI peace treaty with Germany. No WWII ,,,,,,,,...... No greedy Royals, no WW I.
Hitler did NOT want to go to war with the US.
Heck he didn’t want to go to war with England!
For some stupid reason, he thought our blood and thoughts were like his.
Trump would have let them sort out their differences. We had our own problems. The Great Depression would not have lasted so long.
Had Hitler had to fight a one-front war on Stalin with no US Lend-Lease (a total misnomer), the world we live in today would be utterly different:
Something like 70% of Stalin’s ammo and almost all his trucks came from the cypto commies working for FDR, from our hard-working factory workers tricked into who and what they were helping.
Europe might not be democratic but it’s more likely Stalin would have been smashed, maybe 50% of the USSR would have fallen into Hitler’s hands before an armistace.
Europe might not be cheery today with the scenario I laid out, but it would not be the dangerous cesspool it is today, becoming more so with each passing day.
And don’t give me any of those stupid, “Hitler inspecting the fez-wearing Bosnian Werhmacht units”-photos, Hitler was in love with Islam, blah, blah.
The real question (s)
1. Would Trump have engaged the Russians at the end of WWII and told them to get the hell out of Germany, and the other countries.... I say, yes he would have.
2. Would Trump have allowed MacArther to push our troops deep into N. Korea where they were trapped like rats by hundreds of thousands of Chinese? I’d say heck no. He would NOT have got us into Korea.
3. WWII? Don’t know. I think he would have unleashed Patton and the war may have ended sooner.
4. Japan, I think he would have dropped the bomb, maybe sooner, who knows.
