Nope. Japan was engaged in rape and pillage in China, Indonesia. Britain was already engaged against Japan and we were giving aid to Britain. Japan had decided to go to war against the US years earlier in their long term plans.

The war was nothing more than a continuation of WWI. Some of the players shifted sides, but the US involvement in WWII was inevitable. Only thing that might have changed would have been the time frame.

Germany was sinking our ships, eventually enough would have been enough and we would have gotten dragged into the war.

Inevitable because the power of the US is in the hands of a group of people whose values utterly differ from our own.

We are extracted from forests and farms, then send off to hot, barren deserts half a world away.

Then, very expensively, we fight wars that have NOTHING to do with us.

Not one Somali likes us more now than BlackHawkDown days, indeed we are STILL fighting there, are now they are taking over the state of Minnesota and Maine.

We didn't help things in WW1 and looking at Europe now, we didn't help in WW2, either.

And here's the amazing thing:

Far from being a pacifist, I am a jingoist.

I just have a brain, and I think the job of American men is to fight on behalf of OUR interests.

“Japan was engaged in rape and pillage in China, Indonesia.” They did not understand that this was Britain’s job. We gave Japan an ultimatum written by Harry Dexter White, a Soviet agent. It may have originated in Moscow. We saved a regime that had nearly 1 million subject fighting for its opponent even though that opponent described them as subhuman.

I don’t think Japan went to war against Britain until it declared war on us—Dec. 7/8, 1941. Japan couldn’t safely expand towards IndoChina as long as we held the Philippines—just look at a map to see why. Once our fleet was taken out in Hawaii, the Philippines were only a matter of time. Hong Kong, British Malaya, the Dutch East Indies were next.
