When we talk about Glocks, most of us usually think these are used by law enforcement for service or for personal protection. Handgun hunting is really not at the top of the list, but there are the few minority that carry Glocks for hunting.
Most folks either love it or hate it.
So, according to Youtuber Braydon Price having a Glock 10mm was a good choice to have for his situation. He was able to take down a big whitetail buck.
For this situation, Braydon went with his Glock 40 since it was easier for him to pull it out from his chest holster with minimal noise. Glock 40 in 10mm is probably one of the lesser-used calibers.
These are not popular amongst deer hunters when compared to the many other handgun hunting like a .357 Magnum.
Overall, it was a pretty good shot and the Glock 40 was very efficient in putting that big game down with a quick and clean kill. See the rest of man takes buck down with Glock40.
Most deer weigh less than the average man. I would hope it would take down a deer!
“I didn’t say i don’t know how to use a gun. I said i didn’t like em” - Quigley
The article makes it look like the guy drew down on a deer like he met it in a dark alley and it demanded his wallet. Did the deer have a knife? Maybe a Buck knife?
Take it down with a knife then Ill be impressed
I’d like to know which bullet and what velocity.
Handgun hunting has been going on for quite a while.
I have a friend that routinely takes his limit with a Ruger Blackhawk.
I know many people that routinely take wild hogs with 1911's in .45 ACP.
I myself took a 130 lb hog down with my Springfield Operator in .45 ACP.
If a man cannot take a deer (relatively easy to kill in the first place) with a 10MM at 50 yards, then he needs to go buy a grenade launcher.
Not having read the article (a freeper trait, donch know), I have no idea as to the distance, but I do know that a decent marksman could effectively deploy a 10MM handgun up to and beyond 100 yards.
Every deer I've killed has been within 50 yards...stalk or tree sitting.
I think that is illegal in most states.
Glock 10mm. Could be a Colt delta elite 10mm. Really powerful magnum equivalent cartridge.
I took two large does with a Ruger redhawk (standard) in .44 magnum. One deer was moving at a fast trot at 50 yards. The other stationary much closer. Both went straight DOWN.
Before the turn of the 20th century men Hunted deer with lever action Winchesters with what was the equivalent of pistol cartridges. 44-40, 38-40 etc. they are not long range propositions but will anchor a 180 lb deer no problem at woods ranges if you aimed for the vitals
My uncle did that when he was a kid. Became the life long favorite of 4 boys, and grandad was MEAN to everyone but that kid.
Waited in a tree. Fell on the deer. Began stabbing.
I agree. I think most states have minimum caliber and barrel length restrictions. In this case the barrel length is probably too short. But I am not an expert, I do not play one on TV, and I did not stay at a Holiday Inn Resort last night. I do know that I had to verify the use of my .44 Mag in multiple states when I hunted with it.
40 cal is respectable...................
Did the buck have a concealed carry permit?
Did he pass the background check when he purchased it?
Finally, what the hell was a male deer doing with a pistol in the first place!
I bet!....................
Been hunting with handguns for close to 50 years, nothing to see here but a bunch of ad’s in the video. What a BS site! Didn’t even watch the rest of the video. When y’all want to put together some real video give me a holler. I’ve been videoing hunts for over 10 years and have weekly show, we’re doing another hunt this weekend calling coyotes in West Texas. We also do hog, bear and lion hunts. Check out Carnivore!

NY State. Any centerfire caliber. Maine same but also allows .22 magnum (rimfire) or did.
There used to be caliber requirements here in ny and barrel length minimums. But guys carried pocket pistols (illegally) to perform humane, yet lack of meat/trophy damage, Coup de grâce shots.
So they just eliminated most requirements. For good or ill. I carry a pocket pistol for just such occasions. But dont hunt with anything that small.
These are the regulations south of the "Limited Firearms line." North of that line, anything larger than .22 rimfire can be used.
A conventional (smokeless powder) handgun must be .35 caliber or larger and loaded with straight-walled cartridges and may be single- or multiple-shot but cannot exceed a maximum capacity of nine rounds in the barrel and magazine combined
The stupid AM Shooting Journal again. How soon until the blogwhore starts using “incredible” and “funniest ever” in the titles?
I have a Delta Elite (Colt 10mm) and would not hesitate to attempt a deer at short range with it, but for general purpose, will stick with my .308.
Like Tombstone, this movie has only gotten better with age.
That’s it! Even in my misquote, an iconic moment.
