My crazy liberal cousin got angry during Christmas lunch a couple minutes ago

She just left, she got very heated and angry with me. We were debating the state of the economy and the effects on minorities and she started spewing vile curse words and invective on Christmas Day.

Wow. Threw the Christmas cake on the ground. She's 35-years old, works in finance in Morristown, NJ and New York City.

I'm perplexed this holiday season. Now, I just want to stay home and just watch TV or something. Should I bring them over again?

Anyway, Merry Christmas.

Would you welcome to your table an abortionist, blood dripping from his hands, if he were your brother? I’m guessing not. Your cousin or any other leftist is no less depraved.

This isn’t about agonizing over awkward social encounters, it’s good and evil, it’s life and death.

“It’s a spiritual battle. They’re posessed.”

Absolutely what I was going to say. Every day in our devotions we ask God to have mercy on us, wrest power back from Satan, and return America to its foundations.

Yes.

Why?

You are discussing politics as if your leftist relatives are able to discuss it clearly.

There is a rule of manners that says never discuss politics or religion. In the old days one went to church or to the political clubs that sprung up all over to manage that natural urge.

but not with relatives or friends.

It is there to stop this sort of outburst and hurt feelings.

Come to terms on safe ground and discuss easy to talk about subjects.

Do not bait family and friends with politics.

And if they bait you, refuse to play

Some of these feminist/globalist types can’t let this go, they thought they were going to have four years and probably eight years to make our lives living hell, with their earth goddess in power, and we would all end up in the gulag.

It could still happen, don’t take your eyes off the ball.

I am in another country where things are worse, I just try to avoid all political discussion with family as I know it won’t end well.

“We are still friends because I have forbidden the talk of politics between us.”

I had a friend like that for eight years. (She died last month.) We discussed everything but politics, and religious talk was kept to a minimum (she was Catholic, and I am not).

Was it really all about you?

They thought their lives would be wonderful if Hillary were elected.

Now they think everything is awful.

I don't know why they figured Hillary Clinton was so great, but putting you or me or somebody else in the gulag was probably pretty low on their list of priorities.

“My in-laws are also Trump haters, calling him vile, immigrant hater,”

Trump married two immigrants. Do they know that?

“you would rather push away your own family than have a decent holiday conversation.”

I guess that’s true. I don’t consider liberal relatives to be “family”, and I don’t want to be anywhere near them. Ever. And if we were worried about dying alone in a nursing home we’d have had children.

Oh, yeah I remember that. She got mad and left, taking the turkey with her. Hahahaha!!

You questioned the dark side of her secular/Left religion leading her to conclude you are evil and a racist ... and that you have no right to hold such a contrary position.

Love it. lol

Yes! That’s the way it out to be. I have friends who...over the years...have revealed themselves to be Liberal..or clueless. Either way...we know what is verboten and what is pleasurable. So we go with what is pleasurable. It gets to be like a nice, old blanket.

I totally understand, and have been through my own family nightmares and meltdowns. It sounds like your family tried everything to make it work with your sister, and you’re right that sometimes it’s just not meant to be. I just thought it was worth a shot.

In my family, for as long as I can remember it has been my mother starting fights on Christmas, but my father contributed too. My siblings and I would sit there and kind of take it all in. Christmas is a very mixed time for me for that reason.

Last year on Christmas Eve I had the charming experience of having a guy fly up on my bumper on the interstate, get parallel to me and then flip me the bird. Heartwarming. On a much better note, this year I was in the grocery store on Christmas Eve, getting last minute items for dinner, and forgot the paper towels we needed. I was in line, apologized to the woman behind me, and she told me to take my time, go get the paper towels, and not to hurry. It was a small thing, but wonderful nonetheless.

I am so sorry this happened to you on Christmas. You are hosting her and she needs to behave herself in your house. She owes you a big apology (Don't hold your breath).

Merry Christmas!
