Supreme Court Justices Kagan, Sotomayor concerned about court being viewed as politically divided

Associate Justices of the Supreme Court Elena Kagan and Sonia Sotomayor said they are concerned the court’s legitimacy could be undermined if it is viewed as politically divided.

What did they say?
“We don’t have an army, we don’t have any money, the only way we get people to do what we say that they should do is because people respect us and respect our fairness,” Kagan said in an NJ.com report.

“Part of the court’s legitimacy depends on people not seeing the court in the way that people see the rest of the governing structures of this country now. In other words, people thinking of the court as not politically divided in the same way, as not an extension of politics, but instead somehow above the fray,” she also said.

The two Princeton graduates made their comments Friday during a “She Roars” women’s conference Friday at their alma mater. They avoided saying anything about the contentious atmosphere surrounding Brett Kavanaugh’s confirmation to the Supreme Court.

They should quit in protest. It’s what a real feminist would do.

"I can't imagine what this place would be -- I can't imagine what the country would be -- with Donald Trump as our president,"

Apparently it’s not partisan when they do it.

Well, of course the court is divided, it wouldn’t be fair to put all liberals and commies on it - especially when the the country is center right overall.

Now if they want to be above the fray and appear impartial, quit going to conferences about roaring women etc.

If those justices are worried about it then resign.

Both these two are always free to resign and seek their true life’s work. Neither one of them likes being part of a permanent minority - lots of reps quit when faced with this situation.

It’s a long shot but Trump just might be able to resolve the political split on the Supreme Court.

All he needs to do is to put 4 MORE JUSTICES ON THE SUPREME COURT.

The very event these justices were at was partisan in nature...’She Roars’ conference...do pro-life women get to ‘roar’ with them?

THEY BETTER BE RESPECTFUL OF KAVANAUGH ONCE HE JOINS THE BENCH! (He and Kagan used to get on quite well on the Harvard faculty apparently.)

Let me get this straight:

The only two illegitimate Justices on the court are suddenly worried about the court’s legitimacy?

Now they're concerned?
The Left are perfectly OK with divisiveness as long as they are the ones doing it.
Both Kagan and Sotomayor were very controversial picks at the time and the Dems rammed them through.

Maybe they should call out the people who are vocal about undermining the authority of the court. They can start with Eric Holder.

We’re “partisan.”

They’re just objective, level-headed, and wise sucker-punchers and roundhouse-kickers if you disagree.

Just ask ‘em.

Well, those of us on the right of the political spectrum do. The Left has shown they do not respect us nor fairness.

Just wait til Ruth Buzzi fails to wake up from one of her numerous naps taken during deliberations. Trump will respect that seat as a “Woman’s seat” and nominate the lady Judgel/aw prof from Notre Dame, then let the fireworks begin!
