Lindsey Graham Just Changed the Course of History
DB Daily Update ^ | David Blackmon

Today’s Campaign Update (Because The Campaign Never Ends)

He said, she said, Lindsey said. Game over. – I’ve said this several times over the last year, ever since John McCain took ill and was forced to pretty much remove himself from the scene in the nation’s capital, but it bears repeating here: It is absolutely amazing just how great Lindsey Graham has become now that he is free from the pernicious influence of John McCain.

It is not an overstatement to say that Lindsey Graham changed the course of history yesterday. Not an overstatement at all. Up to the point of his decimation of the Democrats on the Senate Judiciary Committee and his laying bare of their despicable scheme against Judge Brett Kavanaugh for all the world to see, it is very likely that Judge Kavanaugh did not have a single Democrat vote in his favor for confirmation, and he probably would have lost several Republicans as well.

Yes, Judge Kavanaugh had acquitted himself extremely well. His passionate, emotional opening statement was perfect, a revelation of a man outraged at the coordinated assault the Democrats and their proxies like the Creepy Porn Lawyer had mounted on his character, his life and his family. The obvious contempt for those senators that oozed from his pores as he answered their idiotic questions about his high school yearbook was wholly justified and reflected the righteous indignation and anger being felt on his behalf by tens of millions of ordinary Americans out here in Flyover Country at the despicable spectacle the Democrats had organized against him.

But to that point, the day was probably a draw. Dr. Christine Ford had also done well enough in the morning to probably give cover for every Democrat senator – even those up for re-election in so-called “Red” states – to vote against this nomination, and had likely created enough doubt about Kavanaugh and his character to frighten wobbly-kneed Republicans like Susan Collins, Jeff Flake and Lisa Murkowski away. Ms. Ford was obviously lying about many things, but her job in all of this was only to create confusion and doubt, and she had successfully done that.

Everything changed when Senator Graham, upon returning from a 15-minute break in the proceedings, insisted on taking the questioning away from Maricopa County Attorney Rachel Mitchell and exercise his own senatorial privilege. Graham only asked a couple of questions of Judge Kavanaugh during his 5 minutes, spending the remainder of his time unleashing holy hell on his depraved Democrat “colleagues” and changing the tone of the entire afternoon.

Had a similar outburst come from any of the other GOP senators on the Committee, it would not have had much effect. But coming as it did from Lindsey Graham, who sadly had largely wasted the past dozen years following the execrable RINO McCain around like a little puppy dog on a leash, pretending that the Democrats were just well-intentioned “colleagues” and that such a thing as “collegiality” still existed in the U.S. Senate, and helping McCain and the Ds push open-borders and other globalist policies, it was a visible shock to the Democrat system and to their propaganda wing in the fake news media.

From that point forward, the Democrat senators were obviously cowed and never laid a glove on Judge Kavanaugh. Their focus on asking the Judge about the meaning of passages in his high school yearbook and endless calls for a man who has already been through no fewer than 6 FBI background checks to call for yet another one made them look like the silly, disengenuous jackasses they truly are.

Left at long last to his own devices, freed from the destructive influence of McCain, Lindsey Graham grew into his full potential as a leader, as a senator and as a man on Thursday. He abandoned the ranks of the RINO placeholders in the U.S. Senate and, just in the nick of time, achieved greatness.

As a result, Judge Kavanaugh will receive a “do confirm” recommendation out of the Judiciary Committee today, probably along party line votes. After the senate spends the following few days going through all its goofy Kabuki theater floor speeches and cloture nonsense, Kavanaugh will be confirmed on Tuesday to become the next associate justice to the U.S. Supreme Court. At the end of the day, he will probably receive right at the same number of total votes as did Neil Gorsuch, with several squeamish Red state Ds joining all 51 Rs to confirm.

But much more than that was at stake here. As I wrote last week and again earlier this week, our constitutional guarantees of the right to face our accusers and the presumption of innocence for the accused were under assault and on the line in this nomination, thanks to the the Democrat conspiracy to destroy this man’s life on the front pages of our nation’s fake newspapers.

I have been extremely critical of Senator Graham over the years, mainly due to his slavish devotion to John McCain, and I believe he deserved every bit of the criticism he received over those years. But today, he is my hero because, when the moment came when he and only he could summon the personal gumption to stand up and change the course of history for our country, he rose to the occasion and grew into his potential as a true statesman.

God bless him for doing that, God bless Judge Kavanaugh and his family and God bless America.

That is all.

‘Graham will make an excellent Senate Minority Leader.’

Maybe in Mexico. Graham deserves praise today, but he hasn’t given a rats’ rear about all of the victims of open-border crimes and the risk of WMD terrorism.

The people that are thankful for Lindsey yesterday are aware of the past. It's petty to dwell on it today (it is legitimate to do at more appropriate times). So try not to have a doofus sense of timing.

Well stated. As you allude to, if Ted Cruz or some other ‘flaming-right’ conservative had given the same speech, it would have been laughed off as your usual partisanship.

Graham, to much of our anger over the years, CANNOT simply be labeled as a ‘partisan’, with his rants being received as “oh, that’s just Lindsey”. Only a handful of Republicans, the RINOs, could have pulled that off. But, by definition, RINOs have at least as many issues with Republicans as they do with Democrats, and wouldn’t dare ‘act partisan’ against Democrats.

But Graham did what needed to be done, from one of the very few Republicans who could do it with credibility.

So if Kavanaugh makes it to the Supreme Court, and if the Republicans hold the Senate in 2018, and if Trump wins again in 2020 and can continue populating our judges, I HEREBY DECLARE that I will support and vote for Graham in the 2024 Presidential Primary, for my kids and grandkids will have a decent country to live in, FOR DECADES, due in huge part to his speech yesterday.

I understand your thinking. But who talks about the Wall these days?

When his name comes up, the issue should always dog him in at least a few posts.

What a breath of fresh air. The worst example of Republicans bending over and taking it was the 1996 Vice Presidential debate. I paraphrase Al Gore: “I’m so glad that a decent man like Jack Kemp is running because he is unlike the fascist and sexist like the rest of the Republicans.” This is pretty close to a quote of what Kemp said “I thank my friend for his kind remarks...”

I guess I'm going to draw some flack here, but I never take any of these actions at face value. Rather, I think those leading the country are fully aware that we're engaged in a civil war, and are willing to use all available means in order to achieve victory.

Or, to put it more succinctly, the black hat vs white dichotomy is a false description. In actuality, it's really patriots vs globalists, and both sides have the means and ability to employ a wide range of nefarious tactics the news of which never reaches the general public.

To imagine Trump hasn't been fully engaged in this fight 24/7 would be hopelessly naive. I am 100% confident he and his team have not only prepared a complete dossier on the supposed accusers, but have also brought their guns to bear on any supporters who may be wavering. In the case of Graham, one can only image the implied threats (or promised rewards) to come out strongly now that Trump's chief antagonist is ready for his urine bath.

Viewed from a war time prism, all tactics, no matter how nicely presented to news consumers, is actually hand-to-hand scorched earth battle.

“Only because the Republicans questioner Mitchell flubbed everything with her stupid questioning of Ford. Thank God Lindsey Graham interceded or all could have been lost?”

Probably. But even so, I’m thinking this was the plan all along. They would humor the bitch with trivial questions, although they tripped her a couple of times (apparently) anyway, but the goal was not to make it about her, or the treatment of her - for, like it or not, there is a tribal reaction in women when they see something like that. So nothing for TV commercials, as there was with Anita Hill. Instead, they chose to BLAST the Democrats over what they, the Democrats, have done to Kavanaugh.

People know the difference. Here you have this poor woman who went through this horrific, life-damaging, experience due to the (white) MAN who was about to end up on the Supreme Court.* But for the Senators and their staffs, MUCH DIFFERENT. They are supposed to be the BEST, and never act like spoiled children...but they did, and Lindsey CALLED THEM OUT for it. While many may want to say that Republicans were too hard on this brave bitch, no one can credibly say that Republicans were too hard on the Democrats in the Senate...they’re grownups, it’s part of the game. Sorry, Leftists.

*The fact that she had the MEANS (a willing media and Democrat Party), the MOTIVE (she hates men, particularly conservative men), and the OPPORTUNITY (she had some potential linkage to Kavanaugh’s past) doesn’t mean anything, nothing at all.

“Also...the Democrats better hope Judge Kavanaugh is actually a fair and honest man (as they’ve claimed he isn’t)...because he’ll now be in a position to open a yuge can of whup-ass revenge on them.”

I’ve always wondered the same with Thomas, as it is very rare to have a black be as hard-core and reliably conservative as Thomas is (and that’s sad, but true).

Perhaps Thomas was more open to both sides...until the Democrats dragged out Anita Hill - and now Thomas gets his (well-deserved) REVENGE every time a case is reviewed by the Court.

So we’ll see with Kavanaugh. A bit of REVENGE (say 35 years of it) would be an appropriate response to what the Democrats have done to him.

Agreed. If they had of attacked Ford it would have gotten them nothing extra than what most already knew. It would have made her the star. What they got was a star in Kavanaugh. By the time he was finished all eyes were on the Dems who behaved so badly. Then Graham drove the stake into their evil hearts. I was expecting the old witch to have a heart attack right on the bench. Is that wrong of me? Not sure I care at this stage!888

It is absolutely amazing just how great Lindsey Graham has become now that he is free from the pernicious influence of John McCain.

For the FIRST time I cheered Lindsey Graham! He has finally become the senator that South Carolina deserved all along. It makes me wonder if the dead RINO Juan McLame had some blackmail material he held over Lindsey's head.

There’s also the matter of the undercover videos of the abortion industry selling aborted baby parts, videos that have been sealed by a court at the request of such entities as Planned Parenthood.

It really is Satanism. The leftists and die-hard democrats worship the devil.

Every single position the Dems take opposes something in the bible!

Good article, but the Dems are not "silly" or "disengenuous". They are lying, evil fiends in meat suits. And Graham was undoubtedly blackmailed and/or threatened by McStain. He was freed when McStain finally exited stage left.

Kudos to Graham.

But remember, Kavanaugh came up in the Bush administration, ran the Vince Foster investigation and was on the Ken Starr special prosecutor team.

Graham has a political and social connection with Kavanaugh — Feinstein was attacking one of his own.

No such defense would have been afforded by Graham to Roy Moore.

That said, Kudos to Graham for standing up for one of his own — he wouldn’t have done it two years ago.

This is Linda post John McMaverick. Like.

With McCain gone, Linda Graham needs a new alpha male to drool over. Disturbing as that may be, the fact that Linda's new alpha male of choice is apparently President Trump may work to our political advantage. Who knows? She may even adopt a conservative line on illegal immigration down the road.
