I hope you find this as interesting as I did. I especially like the twin ideas of having mothers help cook the food and also inspecting the food along the supply chain to make sure the young soldiers are getting tasty, nutritious meals. We should do something like that.
Though the video could be seen as a “propaganda” film for the ROK military, what I noted was the manner and degree of organization, and the conscientious concerns to do their jobs well.
I am curious what a similar video of the U.S. military food service would show us.
What the heck is that wall painting in the restaurant at the first minute mark?!?
At the pig’s knuckle restaurant?
Sad someone had to teach that guy to cook ramen.
That restaurant owner chopping onions is wasting what amounts to a whole onion every time he tosses about 7-8 of the ends. Looks like he has plenty of time to utilize the ends better.
A few hours of those dehydrated fish inside sweaty coats would warn the enemy of the approaching army miles away.
Hamburgers are ham, lol.
Ugh, preparing food on the floor. Notice the mommies don’t but food on the floor.
Yes. Look at the wall.
Ping!
Thanks for the ping!
We used to watch a fun show with a military chef - it may have been this one:

I don’t know if you can still watch this; or if the rank and file actually all ate cooking as good as Brad Turner’s ;-)
I’ve seen several videos of South Korean families making Kimchi on the floor; they usually put down a blanket or something.
It’s probably easier doing large-quantity preparation that way, than in a small kitchen.
If you’re talking about one cartoon figure with his head stuffed into another cartoon figure’s crotch,... yeah, weird.
Having a half Korean wife and having visited Korea, I found the video fascinating.
With the 2 year required hard training for every male, it’s good to hear that they feed them well.
It’s probably a reference to something that’s lost in ‘pictorial translation’.
