On Monday, protesters all over the world marched on behalf of world socialism, communism, and a bunch of other causes popular with the political left. In Portland, they rioted. To be fair, many protesters did not riot, but the ones who did showed that they rule the streets of Portland. The rioters were clad in black with scarves covering their faces, burning things, breaking windows, damaging property, and terrorizing afternoon commuters just trying to get home.
In other words, it was a Parade for Rioters.
Meanwhile, two days earlier on Saturday, April 29th, the 82nd Avenue of Roses Parade and Carnival was canceled, courtesy of the threats issued by the same despicable thugs that rioted on Monday. The canceled parade catered to families and children who wanted to enjoy cherished annual traditions of the Rose Festival. Obviously, this children's parade didn't receive the material support and security assurances that the protesters on Monday enjoyed. Did the cancellation of Saturday's parade help embolden the rioters to riot on Monday? Seems like it. The rioters certainly got the message that crime pays in Portland's "Rioters Sanctuary" -- so why not riot some more?
The stated goal of these groups is to label anyone that they object to as being "fascist" and to "shut them down." They boast about "how much power" they have, that "the police cannot stop" them, they openly threaten to "endanger future parades," and add that their threats are "non-negotiable." They are indeed "anti-free speech" groups and live up to the very definition of "fascist" themselves.

Exactly, they have so many homeless street people and young people that they have nothing better to do.
Ultimately, leftist will never understand that appeasing tyrants and wannabe tyrants never work. If they didn’t learn from Chamberlain and Hitler, nothing will work for them.

The so-called Antifa/Anarchists are the political expression of a controlling political group in Portland. Evidence of this is in the limp wristed response of local and state governments.
Just watch deep Blue cities like Portland. They are on the forefront of where the Left wants to take America. A fascist, thuggish liberal-dominated government that keeps the Right out of power by any means possible.
This is all going to escalate and eventually hard working American people will have enough and it will not end well for the leftists....

You are correct. These thugs get emboldened every day from hands off non-intervention from the police. If law enforcement doesn't step up and take charge, the citizenry will have to, or become victims.
A look at how mental illness has been defined downwards is warranted. My nephew is being treated for depression by his doctor. I’m certain that he is one of those counted as mentally ill.
I watched that ad twice to make sure I wasn’t imagining things. Take a vacation with your pet chicken and learn how to weld. You can, in Portland! LOL
Schizophrenia and cannabis are a bad combination. I wonder if Jason, mentioned in the article, was high when he confronted the business owner. I wonder the same thing about the Colorado theater shooter.
There’s no more deserving asylum than Portland for this treatment.
Makes one wonder what Oregone plant, they were using while writing that ad!
