Breitbart tech editor Milo Yiannopoulos was at Berkeley to speak against sanctuary campuses
Protesters upset over a planned speech today (Feb. 1) by Breitbart tech editor Milo Yiannopoulos are burning down parts of the UC Berkeley campus.
The rioting protesters have been ordered to disperse, according to Fox News Channel.
Berkeley, ironically, was the home of the Free Speech Movement of the 1960s.
Berkeley, CA does not like free speech.
There is a bad tendency by liberals to say we need to silence voices upon the threat of violence by the left.
Volokh noted how such policy is divergent from the Supreme Court’s condemnation of the “Heckler’s Veto”:
“Sometimes the government says: ‘We need to suppress this guy who’s speaking on the street corner because we’re afraid somebody will get so upset at him that they’ll throw a punch, or worse.’ There, the Court says ‘Nope, you can’t do that.’ You can’t allow hecklers to essentially force the suppression of a person’s speech by threatening violence. You need to protect the speaker against the violence rather than suppressing speaker.”
I wish Milo would address website discrimination by liberals working for the big search engines and social media.
We need some kind of USA.com search engine.
Democrats are kind of doing the same thing. They supported Bernie against the establishment, and now a large section is in open conflict with the rest of their base.
Fortunately for us, the splinter group is only going to push reasonable democrats away, either towards Trump, or out of politics. Look for the dogs that aren't barking. Look at who is not protesting in any great numbers.

1) Financially supports open sedition in major American cities resulting in millions of dollars of property damage as well as loss of life.
2) Attempts to manipulate democratic elections by donating millions of dollars to his preferred candidates.
3) Seeks to curtail American sovereignty. In his own words: “The main obstacle to a stable and just world order is the United States ... Changing [the] attitude and policies of the United States remains my top priority.”
4) Is a currency manipulator. Soros initiated a British financial crisis by dumping 10 billion sterling, forcing the devaluation of the currency and gaining a billion-dollar profit.

The report said the group had to agree to pay for extra security before they would let them speak (Milo that is). Seems like there should be a student fee for extra security that every student pays in fees because why should the people who are not doing the damage have to pay more to speak while the idiots can speak all they want? It is rewarding the bad behavior.

In the case of Berkeley — live by the First Amendment, die by the First Amendment. Anarchy and destruction of public property is not protected by the FA.
These Marxists have been indoctrinated to believe that words are violence that need to be met with violence. That way, they are justified to use violence against those who disagree with them. It is the same mentality that says women have control over their own bodies to justify killing an unborn child. I was alive during the Free Speech riots. They were not about Free Speech. They were about the ability to use 4-letter, Anglo-Saxon expletives in public. I distinctly recall the then-famous (now forgotten) rabble-rouser who insisted “Every Grandmother must be forced to say “F*(K” after being told such language was looked upon as a real assault by many elders. It was a micro-aggression before micro-agressions were invented. Not only did Gram have to listen to such language, she was to be forced to speak it.
It was the locutional equivalent of bra burning and females going topless in the street. Just one more step in the Gramsci agenda of coarsening public discourse. Which, by the way, has been a success. I’m now a 74-year-old woman and I cannot think of a word that shocks me or one I won’t use if circumstances warrant.
