Logan's Roadhouse restaurant chain has filed for bankruptcy.
The filing was made Monday with U.S. bankruptcy court in Wilmington, Delaware. The plan, according to the company is "designed to restructure the company's balance sheet" while providing it with the "capital needed to turnaround operations."
The Nashville, Tennessee-based steakhouse chain best known for its western flair and peanuts on the floor will close 18 restaurants as part of its restructuring. The chain operates 250 locations nationwide, including 23 in Alabama....

Was traveling.Ate at one in Wilkes Barre PA
a wk ago Fri and online read they planned to
file for bankruptcy.Said nothing to server..
was thinking it would probably take awhile to
take effect. The next Thu was passing thru WB
on way home: sign was down and people putting
fixtures into a truck.
Ate at Chinese buffet next door and saw online it was one of 18 to be permanently closed (sign on door of the LR said so,too).Help was now out of work;had been told “come in for a meeting tomorrow.”...They found out;supposedly they will try to get them jobs at another location but that could be far away.
Ate there before at that one,and at one in Norfolk VA.Rolls and butter, salad, steak, beer ...not bad.
One article I read said they had lots of competition locally.
Of the steakhouse chains that aren’t higher priced, I prefer Texas Land And Cattle now that the recent idiot ‘craft dining’ management have been replaced by the new owners and the menu’s returned to about where it was before the prior idiots took over.
It was a crap restaurant anyway. I’m surprised they lasted this long.
For some reason, that really, really appeals to me.
The big chain steakhouses however are suffering. Beef is just so expensive. If I'm going to pay $30 for a steak, better to get it at the supermarket or butcher shop and cook it myself at home. Usually over the grill.
But nothing beats a properly cooked steakhouse steak. A few weeks ago, I went to Palms II on 2nd Ave and had an 18-oz Strip medium rare with brussels sprouts, mushrooms and bacon. It was $55 just for the steak but so worth it.
On my last trip to Logan’s my wife and I were enjoying our dinner salads. I got about 1/2 way through mine and noticed a ladybug crawling through my ranch dressing just as waitress was refilling my tea. I pointed to it and said, “Perhaps you should tell the kitchen to spend more time washing the lettuce.” She said, “I will get the manager” and walked off.
I’m pretty easy going and had no intention of asking and had never asked for the manager... only going to suggest perhaps they comp the salad.
So next I see the light in loafers effeminate manager walk right past us and apologize to the wrong table! They were laughing pretty hard and I was visibly holding back tears when he finally got to our table. Now he was very polite to them but was quite angry when he got to our table and proceeds to accuse me of putting the bug in my salad to get a free meal.
My wife knows I never make a scene over anything, but I am now pissed at the accusation and proceeded to get pretty loud talking to him about the E-Coli bagged salad scare that was in the news and the importance of washing your produce. I told him loudly that “I DON’T APPRECIATE BEING ACCUSED OF PUTTING A BUG IN MY SALAD!”
He realized to late that he started this scene, and as our food is now coming out he tried to quiet me down by offering to comp our meals. (Can you say idiot!) I was having none of it and demanded, “Bring me a check for two salads and two drinks!”
Ended up leaving steaks on the table. Left a good tip for the waitress with a note.... “sorry you work for such an ass.” Was well worth it just seeing him apologize to the wrong table.
A few nights later I was flipping channels on TV and see Julie Andrews putting a cockroach in her salad in Victor Victoria!
....squashed the meat on the grill with a spatula...
....squeezing all the succulent juices out of it. I got the feeling that they didn’t believe in training.
That’s what they get for the blasphemy of cookin steaks on a flat grill!
The horror.. The horror.. d;^)
We have a Logan’s and an Outback close. We go to Logan’s because our Outback sucks.
NOOOOO!!!!!! My favorite place! Love their rolls and their Kickin Chicken Salad!
You know, I don’t love that peanuts on the floor thing. But you know, I consider myself an Eva Gabor New Yorker!
That sounds like a perfect evening. I like that you include a salad, very classy and healthful!
