We're not bringing the Steel and Coal industries 'back' to any State if we don't get the EPA out of the way, reduce corporate income taxes and abolish 0bamacare. For a start.

While I can see the coal industry helped by rolling back nobamas destructive policies, I have some trouble seeing how he will bring back the steel industry. Is he planning to prop it up with government subsidies, put tariffs and surcharges on Chinese steel to make Pittsburgh steel companies and their union employees competitive?
I keep hearing how Trumps not a politician, but he sure as hell has the campaign promises part down pat!

How? By raising the tariffs on imported steel?Ok by me. More tariffs less income taxes.

It’s rainbow stew:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yRDOrCFIY4c
There’s a big, brown cloud in the city
And the countryside’s a sin
The price of life is too high to give up
It’s gotta come down again
The world wide war is over and done
And the dream of peace comes true
We’ll all be drinkin’ that free bubble-ubb
And eatin’ that rainbow stew
When they find out how to burn water
And the gasoline car is gone
When an airplane flies without any fuel
And the satellite heats our home
But one of these days when the air clears up
And the sun comes shinin’ through
We’ll all be drinkin’ that free bubble-ubb
And eatin’ that rainbow stew
Eatin’ rainbow stew in a silver spoon
Underneath that sky of blue
We’ll all be drinkin’ that free bubble-ubb
And eatin’ that rainbow stew
You don’t have to get high to get happy
Just think about what’s in store
When people start doin’ what they oughta be doin’
Then they won’t be booin’ no more
When a President goes through the White House door
Does what he says he’ll do
We’ll all be drinkin’ that free bubble-ubb
And eatin’ that rainbow stew
Eatin’ rainbow stew in a silver spoon
Underneath that sky of blue
We’ll all be drinkin’ that free bubble-ubb
And eatin’ that rainbow stew
Eatin’ rainbow stew in a silver spoon
Underneath that sky of blue
We’ll all be drinkin’ free bubble-ubb
And eatin’ that rainbow stew

there's money to be made by experienced steel people here in SW Pa
The steel industry here started collapsing in the late 70's. By the end of Reagan's first year in office it was pretty much gone. That was 35 yrs. ago. The bulk of those experienced guys are now retirement age, or darned close to it.
To: knarf
Amen. You can drive in any direction and see the blight (not just the Mon Valley). Not all the old industrial sights have gone “trendy.”
And DJTs people should have researched and updated him on the most recent US Steel and ALCOA layoffs. 2500 for USS, and 2000 for Alcoa! And rumors flying Westinghouse is next.

You wish. Not only will Congress not lower income taxes, everything made with steel will go up in price.

Whats your point? That you are dumb enough to take Trump literally here? What Trump is saying is he will do his best to keep the steel and coal industry we have and build on this. Trump tariffs will bring back some steel industry. Then that is what Trump should say, he always makes these blanket statements and promises, then his supporters come out and say what you did, we have to listen to what he didn't say not what he did because what he said isn't what he meant, ridiculous! If Cruz had said the same thing you guys would have been all over him like flies on......well you know. And NO! I'm not a Cruz supporter.

Tariffs only serve to protect businesses that cannot compete and end up costing the consumer more.An across the board tariff of 20% wouldn't specifically target anything.

Creating jobs, growing the economy and expanding the tax base are much more important than your narrow selfish interests.

The only thing Trump needs to do is get Congress to rescind a bunch of heavy handed federal regulations to free up capitalism to work in the coal and steel industries....
But since Trump is going to destroy the GOPe according to a lot of Trump supporters, I’m not sure who he can cut a deal with....maybe the libtards...?
Just pointing out the silly notion of the GOPe being destroyed by Trump...

And rumors flying Westinghouse is next.
They're in trouble because their basic business nowadays is nuclear reactors. And since the Japanese scrooooood the pooch at Fukushima, no one is placing orders.
To: Blood of Tyrants
So an across the board tariff protecting all US industry is bad? So you are in effect saying all USA businesses cannot compete? With American countrymen like you who needs enemies? Hand me the “Far Que”.
