Holly Ray, principal of Bear Branch Elementary in Magnolia Texas has new rules this year and they are making parents and teachers furious!
Already well known to be an overbearing gestapo, Holly Ray removed the bike rack, and made the new rule at the beginning of the school year and reinforced it in March.
Only way you can get to and from school is in a car or bus! Parents stay in your car! Holly Ray demands!

What possible rationale could there be, for not allowing kids to walk or bike to school if they’re close enough to do so? It’s healthy exercise and it’s not burning fossil fuels.

I can’t recall the name, but San Francisco had a female superintendent that got the boot a few years back (and you’d really have to screw up to get kicked out of that rat’s nest). She got a multi-hundred thousand doller buyout, and moved to Philidelphia, where she wore out her welcome very quickly once again, and left with yet another multi-hundred thousand dollar “settlement.” In another “profession” this would be called theft!
I sometimes wish we didn’t homeschool so I could join in the fun of shoving nonsense like this back in their faces.

Part of the problem is that when the woman WHO CAN NOT ARREST OR CITE ANYONE got out of control, the policing authorities in Texas were too stupid to put her in check. So the correction is not accomplished just by reigning her in or getting her fired.
The constables who were willing to go along with her also need to be corrected.
her authority ends at the edge of school property....how the kid gets there is none of her business.
In many places they have a ‘walking bus’ in which there is no bus at all but there are numerous adult chaperones.
It is ludicrous that a child within walking distance of a school cannot actually walk to school, alone or in a group (of students), but then the same liberals elected to office by the likes of this principal keep letting psychos and criminals back onto the streets.
The walking bus concept, however, brings to mind the phenomenon of parents staking out the bus stop in their cars, poised to pull their child back into ‘the bubble’ of smothering attention and overprotectiveness.
This is to say nothing of the parents who, rather incredibly, drive their children to school and pick them up every single day. I know one principal who has to wrangle the bus loading after school as well as a long parade of cars picking up individual children.
The questions come thick and fast:
-Why are so many parents able to meet the bus at pickup (say 8 AM) and dropoff (3 PM)? Aren’t those working hours for most?
-How will children ever become socialized if they are kept in a cocoon?
-Have the parents considered that all the screen time (phones, tablets, games) spent by children is a) a poor substitute for this socialization and b) leads to the wrong kind of attitudes and behavior?
-If kids never walk, ride bikes, run, roughhouse, etc. is it any wonder the little buggers are morbidly obese and have all the interpersonal skills of Dustin Hoffman’s Rain Man character?
Need to use the right weapon and get the enviro nazis on her for making people burn fossil fuels when they are saving the environment by walking.
