You have GOT to be frigging kidding me.

I can see it now....

Coming soon........Tim Burton's The Godfather.....(queue Beetlejuice theme music)......He'll make you an offer...(shock effect)....you can't refuse.........

The news has been wrong on this. What she has done is that kids that are in car pick up line get dismissed first, and the walkers get dismissed 30 minutes later.

I guess parents were parking in the neighborhood and then walking to get their kids and it was causing problems with traffic in the neighborhood.

I’m an Aggie and one of our almni political forums had parents from the school talking abut it.

And yet the state says the kids need more exercise, driving isn’t eco-friendly ...

Now this friends and neighbors, is what we call a bully.

And bullies are to be ignored and then, if they refuse to leave you be, hurt badly.

It is none of this persons business if the child walks, is driven or comes by flying dragon.

She is still on the job, so the parents are not too irritated.

When I was in grades 1 through 8 the only ways I got to school, about a mile away, were by either walking myself or riding my bike, rain or snow, all in a Chicago suburb. In Texas the weather makes riding a bike or walking a lot easier than it was in the Chicago area. Going by bike or foot is also healthier and helps kids develop self-reliance.

Public schools = stupid people.
Private school or home school!

Not sure why parents and the government believe it’s my obligation to finance kids to attend these “make ‘em stupid” factories.

So very true that, “you can’t succeed in remaking classics.” Just look at what busts “Godfather III” and the modern sequel to “Gone With the Wind” were, even though they were at least sequels, not remakes.

Yet another government school from which to withdraw your children. These edu-fascists are too much!

What possible rationale could there be, for not allowing kids to walk or bike to school if they’re close enough to do so? It’s healthy exercise and it’s not burning fossil fuels.

At issue isn't so much the kids who walk or bike to school but the special snowflakes whose special snowflake parents think they're too important to wait in line at the drop-off/pick-up zones. These Very Important Snowflakes believe that they are entitled to use the visitor parking lot to drop off their kids because their time is just too valuable to waste waiting with the less-special snowflakes.

Unfortunately, everyone is a Very Important Snowflake so now the visitor lot, not designed for so much traffic because parents used to send their kids to school on the bus, has become crowded with lots of moving cars, small children and impatient parents.

It's a tragedy waiting to happen. And when it does, the school is going to get sued and the principal will get fired.

Sadly, the kids who walk or bike to school now have to be driven thanks to the Very Important Snowflakes.

The principal at my kids' elementary school has the same policy and I agree wholeheartedly with it.

AFAIK, the school is responsible for the child the minute they leave their home until they get home that afternoon. That is why kids take buses now even for the shortest distances.

What’s going on in that school that the public isn’t allowed to know about? This kind of secrecy and barring of parents suggests she’s up to something with the kids.

Can't be, I live about 5 blocks from our local high/middle school complex and dozens of kids walk past my house morning and afternoon. Cars galore, driven by students and parents go by.....and the parking lot at the high school is enormous and full every day.

Or maybe just another kind of prostitution.

How will children ever become socialized if they are kept in a cocoon?

Careful, you'll affront the home schoolers!
