Cruz supporters: Did Cruz's comments change your mind on him?
vanity | March 12, 2016 | Kevin "Coach" Collins

I am a Trump supporter but I would like to know if Cruz's comments about Chicago changed the mind of any of his supporters. Is it A) no difference I still support Cruz B) I am rethinking my support for Cruz C) I am now going to support another candidate or not voting?

“Knock the crap out of the, would you? Seriously. OK, just knock the hell — I promise you, I will pay for the legal fees. I promise. I promise.”

Are you seriously suggesting that this comment caused street thugs to do what street thugs do...that minus this comment the sweet darlings would act as perfect little boys and girls...?

Even though he creeps me out and is a passenger on the cheap labor express, to save the U.S. from clinton I was still going to vote for Cruz if he was the nominee.

That ended today.

Nope. I’m much more interested in how Cruz has voted while on record than in what stupid things he says. I want a president who’ll defend the Constitution, and Cruz has a long record (both as lawyer and as senator) of trying to do that.

And, frankly, I think Trump has said stupider stuff. I don’t agree with Cruz that it in anyway justifies or caused the violence in Chicago, but I do agree with Cruz that Trump’s habit of “talking tough” regarding protesters is stupid. And if I were Trump’s campaign manager, Trump’s inability to articulate some of his own positions (as presented on his website) would have me banging my head.

But, again, I’m more concerned by Trump’s history of crony capitalism and other actions than I am about what he has to say. Words are cheap, and sometimes words are thoughtlessly spoken in the heat of the moment. I do pay attention to what people say repeatedly over a long period of time, and assume that’s a legit expression of who they are, but generally what politicians do is far more important to me than what they say.

We were working on transforming the party by electing Tea Party people like Cruz.

So, Tea Party people go about excusing Leftist criminality, simply because it benefits them politically...is that about it...?

Sure am glad we were working on transforming the party to include such types...

Another fine nonanswer from a Trump supporter. Well done!

Have any fights or riots happened at a Cruz rally?

Cruz regularly calls hecklers and protesters at his rallies up to the microphone and lets them have their say. Then he has his say, reminding them, "You had your turn; it's my turn now" if they try to interrupt -- and most of them have to admit the justice of that and shut up.

It's amazing to see and it works.

It's also Cruz's debate experience coming out; most candidates probably couldn't pull it off, and really there's no reason they should have to. People come to Trump rallies to hear Trump talk, and in that space Trump has the right to talk without being interrupted. But I suspect Cruz's technique does help to undercut his opponents. Tough to play the victim after Cruz gives them a chance to have their say at his own rally. Protesters who continue causing a ruckus after being allowed the microphone just look like ingrates.

Someone is going to get injured or killed because of the likes of Glenn Beck and his stabbing and Hitler comments

I can’t abide Glenn Beck, always thought he was a freaking drama queen of the first order...but his ‘stabbing comments’ were not made about Trump but as an attempt at humor, about his sycophantic little broadcast sidekick...

You are - Mark Levin is editor of Conservative Review, and you don’t really believe he is unbiased, do you? Trump has very conserative issues he is running on. You need to beware of Mr. Lying Cruz/bot - so, yes, you are naive. His little dog and pony show on the Senate floor was just that - a way to get his name out there because he had plans to run for the presidency. He knew McConnell lied - his staff made him aware of it - so, he has no one to blame but himself. Wow, you are easily impressed by such nothing burgers, aren’t you? How many private sector jobs has Cruz created? None, nada, zilch, zero. He has always and will always slurped at the taxpayer trough - he’s establishment through and through - so, yes, you are naive. He’s led the fight against Obama has he? And, just what has that changed? Nada, zilch, zero, nil. Oh yeah, he also supports TPP - which isn’t exactly fighting against obama, now is it? Wise up and do your research. Stop believing lies from Mr. Cruz/Bush.

My lack of support for Trump is because I don't believe he is for a smaller federal government. How does he plan to force US companies to return jobs to America- with more government?

He can do it by working with Congress to identify ways to tax companies who leave here. When companies incorporated in America but working with foreign workers abroad want to sell their goods back to Americans, those goods will be taxed heavily.

There may be some pain for awhile, but eventually our boundaries get reestablished, so that Americans do not get billed for supporting the entire Third World with our companies sent overseas.

Nah. My point was just that pulling these stunts with a guy who does what Cruz does would be a lot less successful than protesting a guy who is on record threatening other protesters. Which is not to say that violent protesters wouldn't show up at a Cruz rally, because they must know the media is not on Cruz's side. Just that Cruz has set it up so that those protesters can be easily look ridiculous, while Trump is more open to attack on that front.

The fact that Trump is more vulnerable doesn't make the attack right, obviously.

OTOH, while Trump is not my choice for president, if people rally to Trump out of disgust over these protesters, I have to admit there's a certain justice to that result. Furthermore, if Trump does run as the Republican candidate, I hope these sorts of stunts will kick enough people over on Trump's side that he beats whichever Democrat runs.

Cruz did no such thing. I watched his entire statement, and it is being taken out of context and misrepresented by the Trumpettes. Why should I be surprised, it’s what they do.

The left might certainly hate Cruz, but they don’t fear him.

Oh really? Does Salon , the unofficial mouthpiece of the Clinton's , count as the left?

You are - Mark Levin is editor of Conservative Review, and you don’t really believe he is unbiased, do you?

Of course he's biased: towards Conservatism. Conservative review came to him , not the other way around.

Trump has very conserative (sic) issues he is running on. You need to beware of Mr. Lying Cruz/bot - so, yes, you are naive.

Cruz has earned his conservative reputation by the actions of his whole life , unlike the Johnny come lately conservative claiming that title.

His little dog and pony show on the Senate floor was just that - a way to get his name out there because he had plans to run for the presidency. He knew McConnell lied - his staff made him aware of it - so, he has no one to blame but himself.

There is a reason Senators hate Cruz: cockroaches hate the light. He ran a Government shutdown while McConnell ran his tail between his legs.

Wow, you are easily impressed by such nothing burgers, aren’t you? How many private sector jobs has Cruz created? None, nada, zilch, zero. He has always and will always slurped at the taxpayer trough - he’s establishment through and through - so, yes, you are naive.

By this criteria only businessmen are ever qualified, like Hoover for example. It is within the realm of possibility that someone could actually believe in America and it's Constitution and devote his life to defending it? Soldiers are also Government workers. Would you hold their fight as valueless as well?

He’s led the fight against Obama has he? And, just what has that changed? Nada, zilch, zero, nil.

That's why he's running for president. Much harder to ignore him then than as a solitary Senator

Oh yeah, he also supports TPP - which isn’t exactly fighting against obama, now is it?

He saw the big picture. Free trade is the best policy for a Nation. Adam Smith figured that out 200 years ago and economists since agree with him. Obama is only temporary compared to this bill

Wise up and do your research. Stop believing lies from Mr. Cruz/Bush.

I believe my own eyes. Cruz has been a consistent conservative. He's a modern day Cato. We are lucky indeed to have him.

Absolutely not. If you wave a red flag in front of a bull, he will charge. Granted that Obama caused the current divisive climate, but Trump’s behavior has emboldened the loons. He knew what would happen if he went to Chicago. It was all over the Internet on Monday that they wanted a thousand protesters. I highly doubt Trump was unaware of the situation. I think he wanted it to stir up the type of people that would support him to get out and vote for him on Tuesday. ISIS? We’ve all been had, IMO.

Besides, Cruz will beat Hillary where Trump is going to be slaughtered. I don’t want Hillary choosing those SCOTUS picks. I don’t trust Trump to choose constitutionalists.

He’s a modern day POS. Not even eligible to be president. He’s a liar and a cheater, and I’m glad you uphold this type of behavior. Lucky to You do know the word conservative has lost all meaning, don’t you? Just like the word racist has. Everyone claims to b a conservative, and Ted’s votes for the Corker bill, his work on the Bush policies, and now becoming one of th Bushes, is hardly conservative. What else you got? Oh, never mind, you are one who has drank the kool aid and ready to lie down in the jungle with Jim Jones 2.0.

"He made an unforced error"

Maybe it could have been said better, but, I think this is being WAY over-exaggerated.

So did Trump make an unforced error when he said "They're going to do what I say" , about forcing the military to follow illegal orders?

"So did Trump make an unforced error when he said "They're going to do what I say" , about forcing the military to follow illegal orders?"

"While former CIA director Michael Hayden suggested the military will completely refuse to carry out Trump’s orders if he’s elected, given they plausibly violate international law, Trump affirmed very clearly, “They’re not going to refuse me."

International Laws mean jackschitt if we have a terrorist who has info that can stop an attack like 911. They can cut off his wife's head and shove it up his terrorist behind if it gets us the info that can stop and attack as far as I am concerned.
