I am a Trump supporter but I would like to know if Cruz's comments about Chicago changed the mind of any of his supporters. Is it A) no difference I still support Cruz B) I am rethinking my support for Cruz C) I am now going to support another candidate or not voting?

I voted for Cruz on Super Tuesday. I wouldn’t now. It wasn’t just because of what happened last night that has changed my position.

I now support Trump.

This episode last night was orchestrated and organized by Black Lives Matter, LaRaza, and Moveon.org. Moveon.org is financed by George Soros, a convicted insider trading Felon in Europe. All of which, except for Soros, promoted it on social media.

What Cruz did was politically incorrect, like pointing out that someone has a hare lip. While obvious to everyone, pointing it out makes one look churlish.

Of course Trump has encouraged his followers to commit violence, even at one point offering to pay the legal fees if anyone were to be charged as a result. But Trump NEVER encouraged his OPPONENTS to commit violence against him or his followers, only the other way round, so he is innocent of that particular charge.

Cruz gets points for telling the truth about Trump yet again, even if it goes against the grain of the Trumpnotized among us.

Jeb is looking to be the veep now—and offering Cruz help. And we know what a blithering idiot Jeb is. And to learn how power-crazy the Bush’s are, read Roger Stone’s new book “Jeb! The Bush Crime Family” and review the Bush dynasty.

> “Did Cruz’s comments change your mind on him?”

Ted was a class act when he said months ago that he would not attack other candidates. He changed.

Ted hired scumbags to run his campaign. He had no experience running national campaigns, so he hired people that he decided that he needed, or he was told that these are the people he would hire. Either way, he’s inexperienced and is not his own man.

Ted brought in Neil Bush. This was the beginning of the end, a break to the dark side.

Ted blames Donald Trump for Chicago. He blames people who were attacked and denied their rights. It’s not much different that Euro scum telling women they are responsible for being raped by Muslim immigrants because of the way they dress. This is the end for Ted Cruz. I don’t think he has much of a future now. He showed tremendously poor judgment.

Cruz Kasich and Rubio all had ready responses that were almost identical. They were prepared. Like they knew in advance. Hmmmm was it more than moveon, BLM, Berns? GOPe? Was this discussed at Sea Island?

Comments from “ every one of those idiots” who even hinted that Trump brought this on himself could be shut down as well. Then what will they say?

RESPONSE TO TRUMP’S RALLY BEING SHUT DOWN

Ted Cruz: Ted Cruz is responding to Donald Trump’s cancellation of his Chicago rally, saying the billionaire has created ‘an environment that encourages this sort of nasty discourse.’ The Texas senator is calling it a ‘sad day.’

He says, ‘Political discourse should occur in this country without the threat of violence, without anger and rage and hatred directed at each other.’

Cruz says blame for the events in downtown Chicago rests with the protesters but ‘in any campaign responsibility starts at the top.’

Cruz says, ‘When the candidate urges supporters to engage in physical violence, to punch people in the face, the predictable consequence of that is that is escalates. Today is unlikely to be the last such incidence.’

Marco Rubio: Senator Marco Rubio said Friday night that this is a ‘very disturbing moment in our political discourse” and pointed to “real significant anger and frustration at the direction of the country.’

‘America is better than this,’ Rubio said on a call to Fox News. ‘We don’t have to tear each other apart.’

Rubio said Trump is not entirely to blame for tonight’s events but the Republican front-runner ‘does bear responsibility for other things that have happened at his events,’ he said before pointing to an example in which Trump said he wished he could punch a protester in the face.

Rubio also blamed President Obama for the current divide in America. He said: ‘President Obama has spent the last eight years dividing Americans along haves and have-nots, along ethnic lines, racial lines in order to win elections.’

‘I think this has gone to the next level here and I think we’re seeing the consequences in it,’ Rubio added.

Rubio called some of Trump’s dissenters ‘professional protesters’ he claims were paid to be there and said that leftists have a mentality that,’ if you don’t like what someone’s saying, you can just shut them down.’

John Kasich: ‘Tonight the seeds of division that Donald Trump has been sowing this whole campaign finally bore fruit, and it was ugly. Some let their opposition to his views slip beyond protest into violence but we can never let that happen,’ reads a statement from the Ohio Governor.

‘I urge people to resist that temptation and rise to a higher level. Now is the time for Americans to come together and stand firm for what we know is true: We are reat because we are a peacefule people who live by the rule of Law,’ it continues.

We are stronger together, we will reject those who try to divide us for personal gain and we will do it the right way- at the ballot box,’ it concludes.

Hillary Clinton: ‘The divisive rhetoric we are seeing should be of grave concern to us all. We all have our differences, and we know many people across the country feel angry. We need to address that anger together. All of us, no matter what party we belong to or what views we hold, should say loudly and clearly that violence has no place in our politics, we should use our words and deeds to bring Americans together. Last year in Charleston, South Carolina an evil man walked into a church and murdered 9 people. The families of those victims came together and melted hearts in the statehouse and the confederate flag came down. That should be the model we for to overcome painful divisions in our country.’

Police: A spokesman for the Chicago Police Department says the agency never recommended that Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump cancel his campaign rally in the city.

CPD spokesman Anthony Guglielmi told The Associated Press that the department never told the Trump campaign there was a security threat at the University of Illinois at Chicago venue. He said the department had sufficient manpower on the scene to handle any situation.

Guglielmi says the university’s police department also did not recommend that Trump call off the event. He says the decision was made ‘independently’ by the campaign.

Trump cancelled the rally in Chicago due to what organizers said were safety concerns after protesters packed into the arena where it was to take place.

Trump afterward told MSNBC in a telephone interview that he canceled the event because he didn’t ‘want to see people hurt or worse.’ He said he thinks he ‘did the right thing.’

Guglielmi says Trump never arrived at the Chicago venue.Reports swirled that rioters were smashing cars parked in the venue’s main garage. One outburst caught on a police scanner suggested a protester in the resulting scrum brandished a firearm.

“Knock the crap out of the, would you? Seriously. OK, just knock the hell — I promise you, I will pay for the legal fees. I promise. I promise.”

No.

I like Cruz the best because he is for small government. The constitution limits the size of government and is the best of the four remaining candidates to govern in a way that respects the founding fathers view of the proper role of the central government.

Trump does not feel the same way. He is many things that are pleasing to conservatives, but he does not respect the limits of power that the constitution was written to put in place. You need look no further than his repeal and replace on Obamacare. No conservative would believe the federal government had the authority to do anything but repeal. There is no enumerated power to justify Trump’s position to replace, any more than the original ACA had.

You can cite many examples of why Cruz is a superior candidate for conservatives. But imo, repeal and replace as touted by Trump is sufficient to make my point.

And imo, after listening to Trump, he seems fine with a big powerful government. I sense he feels the system in place is bloated and inefficient, and somebody smart and brilliant like he is, will make it better. I don’t want to choose anyone, no matter how smart or brilliant to make a big government more efficient. I prefer decentralization of power. I want power returned to the states and citizens.

No, Cruz merely stated the truth. He did not blame Trump for creating the violence.

Read the quotes and see the recorded vid of Cruz's statement - I did. They are plastered all over the place. He did blame Trump. You lie. Because of his betrayal, Cruz is the most wicked, impious and ungodly man in public office today.

Not changing my support for Ted, either. I agree that Trump should bear some responsibility for the tone of his campaign. I also think that the reporting surrounding Ted's comments will send more of those low info voters into Trump's camp, and The Donald will effectively seal the nolibation on Tuesday.

Trumpeteers will then attempt to rebuild the bridges they've burned...good luck with that...lol. You can't win with 60% of the Republican vote against any candidate that starts with 47%, those eating government cheese.

So what's the plan, Trumpeteers? Give me a reason to vote for your guy after calling me a liar and a traitor here on FR these past few months. Believe me, there are plenty of hard feelings out here.

Cram it where the sun don’t shine. The guy was beating people up and he told them to defend themselves. You don’t give in to mob rule. Now that I think about it... Double cram it sideways.
