What Cruz did was politically incorrect, like pointing out that someone has a hare lip. While obvious to everyone, pointing it out makes one look churlish.

Of course Trump has encouraged his followers to commit violence, even at one point offering to pay the legal fees if anyone were to be charged as a result. But Trump NEVER encouraged his OPPONENTS to commit violence against him or his followers, only the other way round, so he is innocent of that particular charge.

Cruz gets points for telling the truth about Trump yet again, even if it goes against the grain of the Trumpnotized among us.

Cruz is making a “Yes but”, defense.

Cruz is saying

Yes what was done was wrong BUT it is justified because the victim...

Anyone NOT welded at the hip to a candidate knows that is exactly what this is and will hold Cruz accountable

There was such an opportunity here for Cruz and he totally blew it.

Can you imagine what the result would of been if Cruz had come out and supported Trump and soundly castigated the media and the rioters? If he had made a full throated defense of the Constitutional principals of Free Speech and Free Assembly?

But instead he weaseled.

Take a look around the web, you can lie to yourselves all you wish, you will see the truth Tuesday. Cruz made a major error here.

I still support Cruz since Trump has encouraged his supporters to be violent towards protestors. This is well documented.

Trump is absolutely not responsible for MoveOn and other leftist thugs and their violence and hatred in Chicago.

My lack of support for Trump is because I don't believe he is for a smaller federal government. How does he plan to force US companies to return jobs to America- with more government?

The problem with Cruz’s statement is that he blamed Trump for something that is fundamentally the left’s fault.

Exactly the opposite. What Cruz said was total political correctness. He is no different than the rest of the GOP weenies. Cruz as president would be an absolute buffoon. We need a real leader for president. Weenie Cruz doesn't make the cut.

“Trump has encouraged his followers to commit violence”

Trump’s followers were TARGETS of violence. And he gets the blame for being a victim?

How nice of you to throw in with the comunists, BLM crowd, the Democrats, MSM, GOPe and Bernie Sanders group. Cruz wouldn’t know how to tell the truth about anything if it jumped up and bit him. Nice to see so many on this forum who support communism.

Of course Trump has encouraged his followers to commit violence,

and if he hadn’t done so, is it your position that the thugs taking over the streets would stay home and be model citizens...?
