Why I Changed My Mind and Joined the #NeverTrump Movement
DAVID FRENCH March 2, 2016
Let me begin by saying that I was wrong. Weeks ago I said on a number of radio interviews that while I opposed Trump in the primary, Id back him if he won the GOP nomination. I hadnt yet seen or had been unwilling to believe the full extent of his contempt for the truth, his fondness for far-left conspiracy theories, and his sheer malice. When I saw Trump in full, my decision was easy: Never Trump. I have spent my entire adult life advocating against abortion and working to protect the unborn. I didnt endure the taunts and jeers of my law-school classmates, work countless days and nights away from home to protect the free-speech rights of pro-life protestors, and defend the freedoms of the unsung heroes in crisis-pregnancy centers only to vote for a man whos a walking Planned Parenthood commercial.
Last night, even in his alleged uniter mode, Trump went out of his way to once again praise the nations largest abortionist the killer of millions of children and call his critics so-called conservatives. This language will never not ever unite the conservative movement. While my own military service cant compare to the sacrifices and courage of the true American heroes of the Iraq War, I didnt leave my home and risk my life in the fight against the worlds worst jihadists to vote for a man who apparently believes that I was little more than the stooge of a vast conspiracy to lie our way into war. Moreover, I cannot abide the notion of voting for a man whose war strategy is a child-killing war crime and who said out loud that more bombs plus..........

Nothing I post is in any way directed to you.
I’m well aware that you are so deep into blind adoration of an unworthy man that you would be for him if he shot your puppy right in front of you.
Plus you are ignorant.
Saying I’m siding with the GOPe means you don’t have a clue when Cruz is the one candidate who has fought the GOPe and McConnell.
And your baby boy Trump is all to ready to collude with them and the democrats.
Take a break; your fingers will thank you.
What is this “far left conspiracy theory” stuff.
Is it about Bush lying?
News flash, guys. Sorry, this is going to be painful. George H.W. Bush was forced on Ronald Reagan and was always a nasty guy (tried to destroy Reagan). His son was another establishment toad who did virtually nothing for this country.
And yes, he did lie about 9/11. The redacted pages of the 9/11 report likely INCRIMINATE Saudi Arabia in the plot, possibly going right up to the damn royal family. Why would Bush hide such information? Why was it redacted? Because he had financial paymasters who were in bed with the Saudis.
The truth is now a ‘far left conspiracy theory’. I guess Gulf of Tonkin was too. woooh!
Also, its pretty damn hilarious to have these National Review idiots supposedly now standing on conservative principles. These are the same people who TRASHED Ted Cruz during the shutdown debacle. What, now you believe they are sincere constitutionalists? Do you have amnesia or dementia?
They oppose Trump because if he wins, they are finished. And good riddance.
“This notion that Cruz will ride into DC and dictate his 100%er terms to everyone else there is simply wishful thinking.” Times 100 when you use Trump instead of Cruz in that sentence.
>>> So, yes, we are fighting to get Trump people to come to their senses. <<<
Did you ever stop to think that if Trump turns out as badly as he could, crows will become an endangered species?
LOL!
So, I guess David is voting for Hillary!.....?
Yet, she supports abortion, and uses much worse
language about republicans.....oh, well.
NR and an anti-Trump article?
Who knew?
So, French is saying never Trump, that means in a match-up between Trump the Hidebeast, he will chose the Hidebeast (and all her lefty, socialist, internationalist Supreme Court nominees).
What a putz.
Next time you see a goofy ‘sore cruzerman’ picture, a ‘clutching my pearls’ statement, some goofball posting Cruzbio or Crubio, Someone calling a Cruz supporter small minded or whatever insult or name calling etc... Please tell them what they've done.
In the rush to jump on the trump bandwagon and belittle anyone who didn't agree - Trump supporters have overwhelmingly alienated everyone else.
My vote in the primary is cast. I did what I could to convince my friends, neighbors etc... to vote for Cruz and he won my district and county.
Now I'll sit back and watch the show and do what I can to persuade Trump supporters to take an honest look at their candidate. I wish you would do so.
I will also try to bring support from the other candidates to the one, true, constitutional conservative in the race. I believe in the rule of law and not the rule of a man.
>> Why do Trump supporters always deflect and change the subject <<
Because they have learned so well from their Golden Calf?
That generated alot of keywords.
LOL!!
Damned accurate too!
YES....EVERYTHING YOU SAID.
But too many, almost all, are insulting Trump supporters. Insulting is not convincing.
Same can be said of other loyalists.
We need to stop this circular firing squad.
We are hurting ourselves and providing ammunition to the true anti-Americans that will destroy this country. . .the democRATS.
Never Trump?
This means giving up if he is the nominee, to not vote for him ensures Hidebeast will get her agenda and her Supreme Court nominees.
Too many will stay at home and not vote, standing on principle and feeling good about themselves, and as a result the country will be lost but at least they will be warm, wrapped in their self-righteousness.
stocks that go up?
“This notion that Cruz will ride into DC and dictate his 100%er terms to everyone else there is simply wishful thinking.”
Same can be said:
“This notion that Rubio will ride into DC and dictate his 100%er terms to everyone else there is simply wishful thinking.”
“This notion that Trump will ride into DC and dictate his 100%er terms to everyone else there is simply wishful thinking.”
“This notion that [insert candidate of your choice] will ride into DC and dictate his 100%er terms to everyone else there is simply wishful thinking.”
We will talk about Clinton plenty when the nominating process is over.
So, it's fine for you to mention Clinton on your line #22 but you admonish us for it. That's quite bold of you.
If they succeed in nominating him, he probably cant beat Hillary.http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/bloggers/3404324/posts?page=22#22If he beats Hillary, we will have a president who is equal in duplicity and broken promises to Obama.
Regarding federal funding for Planned Parenthood, Trumps Constitution-savvy supporters need to get him up to speed with the following.
Regardless of the good or bad things that Planned Parenthood does, the states have never delegated to the feds, expressly via the Constitution, the specific power to regulate, tax and spend for anything like Planned Parenthood.
