Think this was filmed overseas but anyways, the video shows a guy using a tree to get away from this 5 point deer.(I think) The guy basically maneuvers around the tree so the deer couldn't get to him. Eventually, the man climbs up the tree until the deer moves on. See it here.
We have a farm in the country in Georgia and all the neighbors look out for each other. One day I heard my neighbors dog barking nonstop. Their farm is probably about 200 yards from where I was and I jumped on the golf cart to go investigate. One of their puppies was barking at a huge buck. I don’t know how many points there were but it was a full rack. The buck just had his head partially down and was watching in what seemed to be puzzlement at the little dog standing up to him and barking. I just sat there and watched for maybe 3 minutes and when the deer noticed me, he did a quarter turn and shot straight up in the air and what looked like a 20 foot jump and then disappeared. I have always marveled at the bravery of that little bitty dog.
Thank you. We took him to Auburn University for treatment and he had chemo for about 6 months. He recovered for about 4 months but then the lymphoma came back. I can’t wait to see him in heaven!
Deer can be very dangerous especially during the rut. Mr. GG2 and I had one stomping around us once. We had to throw rocks at it and yell at it to make it leave.
I was thinking it was a Mulie but that rack is yuge.
I (almost) always have Kimber with me.
Unfortunately, I have to leave it at home every time I go to
the doctor’s office for more tests or a follow-up appointment.
Hospitals: Gun-free zones. Dopes.

They are very dangerous during the rut ,if all you are armed with is your daily newspaper.

We have just lost so many. Hubby and I rescue the older dogs destined to be euthanized and it doesn’t seem like there is enough time with them here to give them all the love we have for them.
That does look tasty.
Um... that would look good if I didn’t think it was venison.
I think the more important question is “what DID you do?” If a deer has decided to do you in there’s gotta be a couple of missteps in your recent past.
Just pretend you never saw Bambi..
It’s the taste, NoC, not the visual.
Well OK then..
Mrs. NoC’s reason has to do with her memory of Bambi’s mother getting killed.. ;-)
Solar heating array has ducked behind the Western hills - although this time of year it’s more like the southwestern hills. Now it’s foggy. Must have something to do with the ground being frozen and temps in the low 50’s.. ;-)
That and maybe the snow to freezing rainsleet to torrential rain that moved through as the temp went from 15 degrees to 50 degrees, ya think?
Yep....
