what the hell, I am off tomorrow...

The fourth word says indirectly, taking it to mean not personally, but conveyed by another.I would like to see the current attorney general (howls of laughter) arrest and fine trump for musing.

it is time to call the aswholes on everything they use to control.

If it was me, I would muse daily, just to get under their skin, and laugh at them.

The fourth word says indirectly, taking it to mean not personally, but conveyed by another.

Precisely correct. Stating in a public manner "I would like to see Matt Drudge as my Whitehouse Spokesman" to a reporter would be an indirect offer of the position.

That's why you never see candidates speculating in a public venue about things like that.

If a candidate were to have a private conversation with a member of his staff about who he would like to approach after the election, that would be perfectly fine. But they must be very careful about what they say in public.

Rush would make a better Press Secretary than Drudge.
Matt could be appointed Czar of Media control or something.

I didn’t read one word in this report that indicates he would appoint Drudge in his administration. The specific word I saw was - campaign. Aren’t you reading too much into this article that isn’t there/

Stating in a public manner is in fact unlawful, as you so well pointed out.

However, musing is not the same as staing. it is not a statement of fact, indirectly or directly.

It is simply one wondering out loud, musing, if you will, as to the fanciful events that may or may not develop, or the taste of honey, or what the Sun would feel like on the face after it comes out from behind the cloud, or if Rush or Matt would make a better mouthpiece.

See, it is a play on and of words, but words is what defines the law. One can play below the radar as long as one is not declaring directly, or indirectly, extending or offering a position.

Just musing.

If Mr. Trump were to sit back and say, after stroking his chin, I wonder how Mr. Drudge would perform as a mouthpiece in the briefing room, that is a muse. It is not an offer.

I realize you are making a statement regards the law. I am stating that musing is not against the law, well, until the thought police prove intent upon devining one's muse.

That could get ugly real quick.

As we get deeper and deeper into the campaign, we will see more and more Freepers demanding that this candidate or that candidate tell who they will appoint to certain positions.

We will have long posts and rants about it.

We will have concern trolls attacking candidates for not saying who they would or would not appoint to the Supreme Court, or as Secretary of State, or U.N. Ambassador.

I’m just trying to get ahead of the curve and remind everyone that it is illegal to state who you would appoint or hire while you are running for office.

Put an elevator in the Oval Office, when it’s time for the daily press briefing, Trump jumps in the elevator and pops up in front of the podium in the briefing room. I’d pay to see MSMs faces when the elevator opens.

But drudge would work too.

Buy out for better coverage from Drudge? Trump’s decisions are all based on whether you are nice to him. If I were Drudge I would disavow.
Besides who the heck wants that job?

I would take it. The first thing I would do is donate all that nice seating in the press room to the local old folks home, and put in folding chairs for members of the MSM.

A little strange to say that now. It is like bribing him to be favorable. Of course he is already a Trump supporter. That’s obvious. But still. For all the claims of not buying people, this sounds awfully close.
