The Republican Party establishment will be jumping to Ben Carsonâs defense this week. So will a few Democrats and a few media people. They would all love to see Carson as the Republican nominee because they know he would lose massively to their favorite felon Hillary Clinton. Jumping to support Carson plays right into the hands of those who want to see her as the next president.
It is all so simple.
The Democrat controlled media hates Republicans and hates Black so-called conservative Republicans even more. Such people destroy their lies and make them look like the frauds they are.
It is precisely for this reason that it is not tactically wise to rally around Carson now that he is undergoing the mediaâs anal examination that was to be expected as he began to rise up the polls.
A dispassionate review of what Carson brings to the table, his lack of substantive ideas at best, bad ideas and crazy beliefs at worst, makes him the best hope the media has of electing their favorite felon.
ââ¦.Herman Cain destroyed by outright lies made up by Chicago thugs. They killed his chances of advancing and stopping Barack Obama. That got us an empty suit named Mitt Romney who ran a halfhearted campaign and lost. America cannot survive another Democrat president.
Our future is on the line in this next election. If we choose to use our nomination as an exercise in breast beating piety and nominate Carson to prove we hate the media but not Black people, we will be making a tragic mistake.
Carson would be eviscerated by savagely bias media who will use his own words against him. They will not have to make things up.

I agree. I suspect a lot of the postings on FR, blaming the media for Dr. Carson’s mis-statements, lack of concise description, whatever, is a motivated effort by the elite to keep Dr. Carson in the race long enough to keep Trump from securing the nomination.
Me neither. I believe the "Coach Analysis" of the rational for the MSM/Dems support of Carson is correct. They would love for him to be the nominee.
Plus, he is at this point sucking the wind from the Cruz, Trump and even the Rubio campaigns. And this from a candidate who has essentially no qualifications for the office except, to some apparently, a pleasing personality.
I think he will fade. His performance in the last debate was really pathetic and, from my point of view, wasn't much better in the first two.
I didn’t support Carson before, and this certainly does not trigger any “rallying around” Carson sentiment for me. I still think this whole thing is tedious and overblown. Carson’s support of TPP overshadows this.
I think his insistence on having had murderous thoughts and corresponding actions as a teenager is creepy. For example, if I were wooing a girl, I would hide that to keep her from running from me. How is it that that is a plus when running for president and trying to woo the nation?
The media has been publishing lies about Trump and trying to take him down ever since he got in the race, and no one gets this outraged about it.
Dr. Carson has the same low energy level and lack of enthusiasm for the job as the Jebster.
But the MSM has been trying to crucify Carson and has largely been ignoring Trump’s checkered past. The MSM desperately wants Trump to win the nomination because they know he is by far the easiest for Hillary to beat.
We should rally around Carson, not because we should vote for him, but because of media lies. If we don’t defend Carson from the lies, because its more convenient to let him go because we support another candidate than noone will be around to defend against the lies against your favorite candidate - by then no-one will care because you certainly didn’t
Because the 10,000 stories calling him everything from a rapist to a Nazi are totally part of their plan to help him win so Hillary can “beat” him?
Which is it? Does the MSM go easy on a candidate because they want them to win the nomination, because they are easy to beat....or do they heap scorn on them, so they can win the nomination....because they are easy to beat?
And why the hell would they need to do anything? According to some, Trump is just a “stalking horse” for her anyway.
God, Trump has really done irreparable damage to the once-principled conservative movement.
I have known many medical school department chairmen, and many star surgeons, in my 40 year career.
Wrong skill set for the Presidency. Enough said.
However, I think the media interest in Carson doesn’t really envision him as President, or the nominee. The Uniparty-Infotainment axis merely needs a spike strip to slow down the Trump express before things get out of control, so that either little Marco can be inflated large enough to replace ¡Yeb! or they can convince Mitt to “save the party”.
The press is willfully misrepresenting support of Carson over Politico, as support of Carson for president.
That deflects the complaint against Politico, and by association, the rest of the press. It's a brazen misdirection, "if you don't support Politico's narrative, you are for Carson, period."
I don't think that's it. The Dems are almost as stumped as the GOP-E. There are democrats and first time voters that like Trump. To to LIV, he is cool. The "outsider" label helps Trump too.
I don’t mind defending Carson from outright lies. Trump can take care of himself.
“The MSM desperately wants Trump to win the nomination”
So that explains why the MSM, for example, singles him out with a smear at the beginning of each debate, and continuously throughout. They are trying to make him look good.
That explains also why the MSM has been gleefully predicting his doom daily. They want him to be the nominee.
You must be smoking some powerful hallucinogens.
Nothing has changed which would make me or my family ever vote for Trump. Coming from NYC he is not fooling me.
I will write in a candidate if it comes down to that
His defenders are going to have a lot of trouble nuancing the West Point scholarship if this 30 second video goes viral. Carson’s statement is very clear.

I am a solid supporter of Trump and with the Lord’s help he will win...
But to have a person take another person down with pen and paper is lowing our American standards...there are better ways of making your point...and this was no different than a ‘tar and feathering’ of another human being...
We Americans have higher standards than that...
“I will not be tricked into supporting Carson over Trump.”
I agree. Carson said or implied strongly enough (by saying he received a “full scholarship”) that he was ACCEPTED at West Point, which . The Politico ran the story saying he ATTENDED West Point...big difference, but BOTH WRONG, and in Carson’s case a flat-out lie - for Politico it was either a careless mistake or was said for some other reason. People simply do not “confuse” receiving a “full scholarship” to West Point with having a “conversation” with an admiral - and if someone actually did, they have no business in the White House.
The media, as they have proven over and over again and again, doesn’t mind getting caught in a lie, if it furthers their cause - they gave Dan Rather that huge award because his lies nearly stole the 2004 election from Bush-43.
So what’s going on here? Simple fear of Trump. Others have been taking bullets left and right to try to bring down Trump, so now Politico figured they’d give it try. So Politico, knowing that Trump will eventually key-in on Carson’s flat-out lie, goes after it first, and INTENTIONALLY MUFFS IT. Accomplishes two things, both good for Politico, the Democrats, and the GOPe. First, Carson’s flat-out lie is no longer an issue - it’s old news, off the table, and second, people leave Trump and rally to Carson, since the media smeared him. It certainly had that effect on Rush, and seems to be working here also.
coach is wrong
Showing support for a person being battered by a “journalist”, whatever the alleged journalist’s end game is, just shows I’ve had enough of the crap.
