.22 Gatling Gun Made From Scratch
AShooting Journal ^ | 10/21/2015 | D Breteau

Posted on 10/21/2015 12:38:50 PM PDT by w1n1

Alex Smyth created this .22 Steam punk Gatling gun from scratch with aluminum/steel skeleton with 7 rotating barrels. The whole gun is sheath in real copper with 1300 hand rib-bets in it. Built off of a Ruger 1022 to keep it legal. Also has an area at the top for the simulated steam from the ice and water.

The chimney and electric motor that drives the rotary barrel which has nothing to do with the firing mechanism to be in compliance with the law. Installed a rotary trigger fed by a .22 magazine from the bottom, total gun weighs 60 lbs. See the demonstration of the .22 Gatlin gun here.

9. What is ATF doing in regard to people making firearms?
There are no federal restrictions on an individual making a firearm for personal use, as long as it does not violate the GCA or National Firearms Act (NFA).

President Jimmy Carter PBUH was nearly killed by a “rib-bet.” They are extremely dangerous.

Rib-bets

They are used extensively on Fabrique Nationale weapons as they were on the most excellent Chamelot-Delvigne Model 1873.

He certainly built something more useful and interesting then the radio shack type clock the Muslim kid had.

Hahaha, excellent call. I bet the center barrel is the firing barrel. No way it weighs 60 lbs. The pressure gage and “steam” are for looks only—he drops some dry ice into an internal box for the “steam” effect from the three pipes on top.

When I was looking at assembling my own target rifle, I was told that the receiver had to get a 4473 and stock, barrel was just OEM parts. If I understand, then, if I bore and mill my own receiver, and simply not sell it, bolt, barrel, stock, the whole shebang, is good?

In case he shoots his foot....120 over 70 would be good.

70 over 40 would not.

Steam Punk is a literary and physical art form based on 19th century steam operated machinery. It has even branched out in to clothing designs.

As Charles Martel said it is all for looks.

Correct. You can make any gun except full auto that doesn’t violate some other ATF “destructive device” rules.

Rib-bets: fasteners installed by frogs.

The author is just a toady with some good connections...
