Latino voter, "Trump is my man!" (The GOP is Stupid)
Me | 9/14/15 | Me

So, a co-worker asked me what I thought about the Presidential race this evening. Before I could answer, a Latino visitor comes up and asks, "Are y'all talking about Trump?"

This is what he had to say on the subject:

"The Republican Party has no clue what goes on in the Hispanic community. I was born and raised in Texas, just like my parents. We want the wall built. The gangs from Mexico aren't just in Mexico; they're here.

Those gangs aren't in your neighborhoods; they're in ours. It's not your kids at risk every single day; it's ours.

What do Hispanic voters want - by voters I mean the people trying to build American lives as American citizens in out home nation? We want the same thing you want - a safe place to raise our families.

We want a damned wall.

Only Trump sees this. I don't know why Republicans think that letting our -- OUR -- nation be overrun by thugs would appeal to the very people who suffer the most from it.

The Republican Party is stupid. They think I'm supposed to throw my vote longingly at the first candidate willing to let a drug banger near my children just because he has the same skin color? Stupid. They should walk a mile in my neighborhood.

Only Trump gets it. I hope you're voting for Trump. Go Trump!"

All of that was unsolicited.

Yes. The GOP is the Stupid Party. They created Trump's ascendency.

I respect and welcome new and new-ish Americans who actually want to BE Americans.

I have been saying this for years. If you want the Hispanic vote you have to push the wall and deportation.

Pray America is waking

There are many more like him who won’t openly say so for fear of being attacked by the “Hispanic community”.

I am a member of the Hispanic or Latino or Mexican-American community or whatever you want to call me and I'm not afraid to say what this fine fellow said.

I know a LOT of Hispanics, especially at church. I know none who are for illegal invasion such as we are experiencing.

The word illegal “immigration” is such misnomer, and it confuses the stupid. This is truly an invasion and occupation.

E-Verify would cause a mass self deport the illegal occupants.

I grew up in San Antonio in the 70s. There are many, many Hispanics there that are not “new-ish” Americans, but trace back to being part of the Republic of Texas. They have deeper, longer roots than many of the Irish and Italian decedents on the east coast.

Juan Seguin is a State hero in Texas, and many, many of the Hispanics in Texas are very proud to have been Americans for four, five, six or seven generations.

Those Hispanics hate the illegal aliens.

Exactly right! The last thing the good, honest, hardworking Hispanic citizens wanted was a party that catered to cheaters, illegals who represent the worst of their homeland...hell that’s the kind of scum they came here to get away from!

Most of us knew that as soon as the GOP started talking about how it had to ‘change’ in order to appeal to Hispanics it was wrong and bound to fail. Putting people in categories is what democrats do. A smart GOP (if there were such a thing) would model itself on conservative principles that provide opportunity for everyone to succeed. That’s what these people are telling you.

There are plenty of articles on social media like FB about Trump and many Hispanics that comment on them are for Trump.

It’s not scientific by any means, but I notice that it appears more Hispanics support him then not.

He currently is getting 31% of Hispanics and 25% of Blacks.
Those numbers will get him elected and those numbers might also go up and they might be lower than they actually are just from my general observations and anecdotal evidence.

Many Hispanics, Blacks, Whites and everyone except Illegals and liberals are supporting his immigration policy.

Just to add, it fascinates me that a stranger would come up and insert that into an otherwise private conversation. We weren’t talking about Trump. My co-worker had only mentioned the Presidential primary in general terms.

The guy was just excited to talk about Trump, and took the opportunity to campaign for him.

If you saw the look on this guy’s face, you’d understand what the entire political aristocracy is purposely missing about Trump’s rise.

Full disclosure: I’ve donated to and support Sen. Cruz. This isn’t me pimping my guy. I like it that Trump is a human wrecking ball against the media and the establishment, but he’s not my guy....

"absolutely true....it also goes for the Black Community.."

I was talking to a blue-collar, pro-union, heavy equipment operator today. He was nothing but Trump.

The achilles heel of identity politics is it treats a group as monolithic.

Latino citizens suffer the ill effects of illegal immigration just like any other citizen.

The GOPe lost this election when they had their 2012 post-election strategy session.

The consensus was they needed the Latino vote to win and the way to get Latino votes was to push amnesty. Boy. were they wrong!

GOPe: Screw US citizens, we have to win elections.

A wall will have no more than 10% impact on immigration. The fact is as long as we incentivize- illegals coming here, they will find a way. This is all about economics.

Plus, we already have 60 million illegals here. That is far more than those remaining to come here. Those 60 million are a serious problem that's being glossed over.
