Why I Support Donald Trump’s Campaign – And It’s Probably Not What You Think…
The Conservative Treehouse ^ | July 13, 2015 | sundance

Posted on 07/14/2015 7:01:59 PM PDT by Art in Idaho

Begin with the end in mind – I’m not trying to convince anyone that Donald Trump is running a campaign to actually win the GOP nomination.

Factually, I’m as uncertain and perhaps more skeptical as the next person. However, given that Trump has actually done things he normally wouldn’t do if this was a mere publicity stunt (ie. stock divestitures, removal of conflicts etc.), for the sake of intellectual argument, I’m going to assume, cautiously yet optimistically, he’s in it to win it.

Argument #1 – After all, he’s been a democrat, an independent, a Republican, and well, I have consistently despised Charlie Crist.

Counter Argument – Then again, what about Mitch McConnell and John Boehner, and Orin Hatch, and Lindsey Graham, and John McCain, and John Cornyn, and Thad Cochran and, well, you get the point…. What’s the difference between supporting those consistently Republican “Republicans” only to have them advocate for liberal/progressive policies.

Are the aforementioned better because they didn’t change party registration, yet act like Democrats?

Let me first explain something few fully comprehend – and fewer still, are willing accept.

People like us rail against the “establishment” because, despite the GOP claims to the contrary, they never actually do anything to stop the liberal policy agenda. One only has to look at President Obama’s veto record (four in 6.5 years) to accept that only legislation Obama agrees with is reaching his desk.

We gave the GOP the House (2010, 2012, 2014) and the Senate (2014) and yet we never have received a single benefit to the election victories We The People provided.

Why is that?

"....still, he's not a serious candidate."

Since he's shown he's more serious and emphatic about any number of issues than all the other candidates put together, I wonder what he has personally stated that convinces you he's not "serious" and is "not in it to win it"...and please provide a link to back up your analysis....just one will do.

Yes he is and says so with a vengeance. People say he's too blunt, needs to tone it down, etc. I like his plain spoken straight language. . No sugar coating. Speak the truth atcha'!

I like it. It is an effective form of communication versus the usual double speak and ambiguous language we get from politicians, which turns people off and puts them to sleep. The object is to win votes and beat double speaking opponents. It's super effective when the message resonates.

I’m still with Cruz, but I love what Trump is saying. And I love the response he’s getting from the voters. And the fear he’s raising on the left and in the GOP-e.

There’s a lot of education and a lot to agree with in this article.

Trump's Books Well, well, didn't know he was such a prolific writer. Didn't see a new one, but may be in the works.

Does he really have 'the right stuff'? What if he's for real?

Time will tell. Pray for discernment

The list of books is what got me on the search for his other accomplishments and made me second think my selection criteria

He crosses over to the young, and also the older white democrat male that are making it clear they don’t want to vote for Hillary ... or a professed socialist!

His book, Time to Get Tough, with excellent reviews for clarity on issues, is next on my reading list.

We should pick a Free Republic Cabinet. "The Cabinet includes the Vice President and the heads of 15 executive departments." I bet our cabinet would do a fantastic job!

Great poast. ( I caught the misspell, but I like it, so it stays.) It’s very complicated, but it all sounds reasonable. My choice is still Cruz, but I am very glad Trump is a participant, and the reason is described in this article-
http://allnewspipeline.com/Now_More_Than_Ever_Come_Together.php

Basically, it describes Trump as his own man, beholden to no one, and I think that he might be the only candidate that fits that description. That position, plus everything that he is saying, does command my attention. I will continue to support Cruz, and watch Trump.

Let’s try a real working American businessman for President.

A real working American is so yesterday. Non working affirmative action Americans are all the rage this season!

Trump brings the right message but he is the wrong messenger.

I fear that even if he is the nominee the press will absolutely excoriate him, but then again, they will any Republican candidate. Trump could probably take it better than most and truly fight back. I so want a fighter to Soldier On for our Sacred Republic!
