Some viewers of Jurassic World are taking offense to the film, calling one of the lines in the movie "racist." Specifically, the abbreviation of the dinosaur Pachycephalosaurus.
During the course of the film, the Pachycephalosaurus escape from their enclosures, leading one character to shout, "The Pachys are out of containment!" This has led news outlets and Twitter users to call the film "racist."
A British comedian originally brought attention to the line, offering a tongue-in-cheek rant against the dinosaur's name. However, people did not get the joke, and are actually calling the film racist.
The Independent called the line "very racist." The Huffington Post called it "accidental racism." Yahoo News called it "unintentional, but very racist." The Irish Examiner called it "unintentional racism."

Catch a Paki by the toe,
If he hollers, let him go ...
etc...
Having done business as a vendor to stores owned by Indians or Pakistanis, I am indeed familiar with the slurs. But truthfully, most of the American vendors who said "Paki" were not making a slur, it was just the typical American habit of shortening everything. As we do so often with proper names. Harold becomes Hal, etc. At least that's they way I took it.
Many libs are not literate. They live in an oral tradition.
Me too. Brits also called them “Wogs’’.
All Americans are familiar with the correct pronunciation, “Pock-kee-stahn” as so eloquently articulated by our Dear Leader.
Therefore, “pachys and “Pockees” have totally different and non-racist connotations for all of us.

i know it’s considered a slur in the UK by those who are easily offended, but why is it a slur?
Paki is just a shortening of Pakistani. what’s wrong with that?
Maybe it should have been “the Trikes are out of containment.”
Surely the PC crowd would have thought it meant motorcycles with 3 wheels.

OH PLEASE!!! Speaking of which...it’s my B day... I’m gonna go see that movie again.
In high school we had a kid called pachy...short for pachyderm. He was a fat kid.
I'm a WWII kid; they'll always be Japs (and Krauts) to me.
We’re finally getting around to seeing this movie, tonight. I’ll let you know how offended I am by any imagined slight I see.
*SNORT*
I hope the pachys don’t live a niggardly lifestyle or else they won’t spring for the money to see the movie so they can walk out offended.
My ancestors were Romanian. They’d slit your throat if you called them a Gypsy.
In the UK, its common to refer to all dark-skinned people from east Asia as "Paki's", whether they're from Pakistan or not. I can see why a non-Pakistani would be offended.
Pakistan is not the name of a race!!
People are so stupid these days
Yes, using Paki as short for Pakistani is horribly racist, but terms like Brits and Aussies are not. Very clear to me now...
