My daughter will turn 19 this month. She is our fifth child. She has also been the most worrying to us as she started using drugs a long time ago. She said she first smoked weed at age 12. Since then she has gone on the try many other drugs to include meth, cocaine, pills and LSD and a few others I can’t name. Last year she was in intensive care for 8 days. She has also been in jail about seven or eight times and gone through rehab twice. She is currently living with her mother and I at home but things are getting very tense. She broke up with her boyfriend and says that the stress of breakup makes her want to go get high and chill with her friends. Her friends are not true friends as they are also on drugs. Every time she hangs out with them she stays wasted for a couple days and I had to take her to the ER twice due to overdose on alcohol. Add to all this she has been beat up several times and raped twice that she has admitted to. When you add into this chaos the fact that my wife suffers from a mental illness which is made worse with stress it gets even more chaotic. Now I am at the point where I will soon have to make the choice of allowing my wife to be hospitalized because of her mental illness or I put my daughter out because of the strife she is causing. We’ve offered her all the help in the world and she continues to go on binges and tell us that what we offer won’t help. The last time she got wasted she told us all to “Go f***” ourselves. That night she left the house and was brought home by the police when they found her walking down the highway. As a parent I love my daughter endlessly. But I don’t see how (or why) I should continue to allow her to destroy the rest of the family. But at the same time I feel guilty for what I am considering. We can’t force her into treatment as she is an “adult” and I’m afraid that she will either end up in prison or dead. All this started I believe because she started smoking weed. The weed lowered her inhibitions and resistance and she started doing other drugs. So I truly believe that weed is a gateway drug and should never be legalized. If someone needs it for medicinal purposes they should have to go to a pharmacy for it just like we do with other prescription medications. It hurts me to do it, but I think I may be evicting her from the house today when I get home from work.
I do, I am sad to tell you, because it's a person I've loved rather dearly all my life, and watched him go so badly sideways over the decades.
I also used to know someone who was a pot-head dawn til bedtime -- ME!!! At about 21-22, nearly 40 years ago! That was pretty hard to break, but I did it. The worse one was the alcohol (I really think genetics play an important role, but it's still behavioral) -- I was headed to where my friend who drank all day had gone, but I made a different choice.
Pot or booze, physical/mental addiction to either is a curse ... but in the way of curses, sometimes a disguised blessing. God works His wonders in mysterious ways.
Don't forget
Aspirin or Tylenol, cough syrup, cigarettes, booze, coffee, tea or a coke .... are just like drugs.
No nation can tolerate drugs. It is a death sentence to any country which allows it.
This idea was tried once in History. It destroyed China, and it will destroy any other nation which attempts it.

Addiction is a very hard road to travel, and being one who loves an addict is even harder.
WEll you are wrong there Bud, possessing a gun is a very powerful mind altering “drug” Having the power of life and death at you fingers? think about that. It is the personality that kills or abuses them selves. That does not mean that sane rational individuals should not have the right to utilize these things in a rational manner.
Blaming the victim and spreading lies and disinformation.
I see that he is, and what's more he is still denying that he's promoting drug usage.

I believe the question has been called and the votes have been tallied. The product which has been with mankind since before recorded history shall continue it's close relationship with us.
But why would we want to put up with more destruction caused by another one?

Tossing her out on the street, that will sure minimize the chances she ends up dead or in jail, eh? Does she have a job? If not she'll probably start hooking, you don't want that.
Get the book by Dr. James Dobson, “Tough Love”....
It will help you see the need for some “tough love AND it will give you ideas on implementing it and will maybe give you some hope.
Also, go ahead and lower your expectations of her. Assume worst case scenario every step of the way (don’t say it, just THINK it.) If you have low expectations, then you can’t be disappointed. That will help your own sanity and stress level.
Together with our friends in the government, we can make the world safe for everyone!

What it boiled down to for me was how much did I want to be free?
I have experienced nothing worse in my life than being a literal slave to a chemical. In my case it was benzos ( xanax and valium and such).
To know what is like to wake up each day and before I eat, drink or even breath, I have to know where my next dose is coming from, or I am literally going to die from withdrawal, I mean actual death.
I was forced, by way of this prison I put myself in, to commit serious felonies in terms of acquiring and possessing these drugs illegally, or death.
That is truly Hell, and I wanted to be free more than anything in this world, and today I am.
Once you hit rock bottom, in my case it was running to of xanax and not being able to get more, all you can do is turn over, look up and start climbing.
And I did not make that journey on the first trip. it took falling back into the hole two more times before I finally got out.
The two things that stood out most about that time of my life was pain and prayer.
I couldn’t have done it without God’s help. He saved me by helping me save myself.
I am praying for your entire family. This is not a light decision you have to make and the consequences could be fatal.
A family friend of ours had been in and out of rehab for the better part of a decade living with his parents the last 2 years. They finally had had enough and kicked him out for good. He was found dead 2 days later in the street.
Your daughter is in a very serious predicament. Her very soul is in the claws of evil. I’m praying that you make the best decision possible and that she finally sees the light and makes necessary changes to her life.

My condolences. I also have a loved one enslaved to mj, and like all those dependent on it, does not see any problem. The people around them see and feel the effects, particularly when they come down.
They are currently legal and don't need any support. What you are pushing is illegal, and thereby your pushing constitutes promotion of drug usage.
You are trying to split hairs in your denials of what you are doing, but it is clear to all and sundry that you are working to increase drug usage.
Not only that, your home page is total incoherent and makes no sense at all.
If you are really trying to convey a message there, maybe you should make it readable and an explanation to its context.
