Texas Democratic lawmaker used a racially tinged Spanish insult to describe the Republican Party during the states Democratic convention Friday.
State Rep. Trey Martinez Fischer, D-San Antonio, left, leaves the U.S. Federal Courthouse, May 29, 2013, in San Antonio. (Eric Gay/AP)
State Rep. Trey Martinez Fischer said at the Texas Democratic Convention that GOP stands for gringos y otros pendejos, the Houston Chronicle reported.
The word gringo is sometimes used as a derogatory term to mean white foreigner. Pendejo can mean asshole, fool or idiot.

Seems apt.
“Gringo” is not “racist” any more than “illegal alien” is racist. It describes factors other than race.
Mexicans don’t call white Mexican citizens (Spanish, German, etc.) “gringos.”
One of these days I need to go pee on Ted Kennedy’s grave to fully express my opinion of his immigration law.
Group of Other Progressives is my favorite.
When that stupid Democrat looks in the mirror, he has to say something. If he were to say what he sees in the mirror, he would have to scrap the sewer off the walls.
DemocRats can’t be racists because they are fighting against evil Republicans. So anything is allowed.
Well, looks like he’s close.
GOP is starting to stand for Good Old Patrónes...............
They want a race war. Obviously.
I had ‘Gay Obama Posse’ as my tagline for a while.
Hell yes it is racist. It is a racial epithet.
I am of the opinion that we need a Constitutional amendment that says:
1) English is the primary language and all laws, treaties, regulations, court rulings, administrative records and legal instruments shall be issued in English. Where a second language or translation is provided, the English version shall be superior.
3) No Senator, Representative, President, Vice President, Cabinet member or officer of the United States, shall take office and assume the duties of that office unless they are able to read and write English.
3) No codex, foreign law, cannon, rule, or other legal action shall be binding on the People, save where approved via fully executed treaty and in accordance with the Constitution and Bill of rights
It’s okay when they do it. That is leftist rule #2
Figure out how add an “E” on the end, and I’ll agree with him.
There is no question that the GOP-E has become The Stupid Party.
"Stupid Pendejos Invading California" maybe?
Actually, “spic” is more an adjective or, more accurately, a pejorative.
The ‘Hispandering’ Representative is just putting the ‘spic’ in “despicable”. It can be argued this is part of his view of his job description.
He would know about pendejos.
Gringo comes from the Mexicans hearing the song “Green Grows the Grass In My home.” (Never heard it.) they said ‘Another wagon train of Green Grows are heading West. Quote from somebody who don’t know shit (like me, I wasn’t around then)....
During the Mexican American war, American troops sang a marching song with a lyric along the lines of “green grows the grass”...something, something. Green grows became Gringos. I don’t know if that’s true, but I’ve run across that explanation in several books over the years.
