Though officials at the World Health Organization are feverishly working to stop the spread of the Ebola virus in what is now seven African nations, their efforts may be for naught. In Guinea, a hot spot for the deadly contagion, government health officials have said that the outbreak is nearly under control. Yet, Reuters reports that the government planned to stop publicly releasing the death toll to avoid causing unnecessary panic.
But panic may be in order.
Despite the best efforts of emergency health workers it appears that virus may have crossed out of Africa into Europe.

The Reston variety of ebola is airborne, fortunately it doesn’t cause hemorrhagic fever in humans.
Been there, done that, during the swine flu epidemic. I didn't have swine flu. But once they put me in quarantine, I couldn't get out for four days.

“I didn’t have swine flu. But once they put me in quarantine, I couldn’t get out for four days.”
Scary stuff. People have NO CLUE just how much power the government has in an ‘emergency’, whether real or not.
Having the ability to hit any living thing has it’s advantages and it’s disadvantages.
Happy Easter, Laz, ol’ buddy....
What is a pony nuke?
Personally, I think the shtf blog should be banned here.
Personally, I disagree with you on that.

A small nuke. Something like the old Davy Crockett anti-personnel nuke. If there’s a small enough concentration (like the size of the camp in that clip), something in that range should be able to eliminate any disease. Ebola is a finicky little bugger, and needs very specific conditions to exist. A high dose of radiation would wipe it out.
Abject sensationalism, wild claims, unnecessary fear mongering and exploitation of the gullible.
Yes, I am a prepper.
I've seen that behavior before.
In liberals.

Nah, it shouldn’t be banned at FR. Don’t open the threads if they offend or annoy you.
Aha, I should have known you would know a lot more than I do. So is this Reston variety that people are getting? And is Reston Ebola also have a high fatality rate? I’m going to have to look up Reston Ebola now.
A number of sites have been banned by the owner. I guess they offended or annoyed him.
So this can’t be Reston Ebola, then.

I just read the whole page, this is the relevant part (just for others since you already know about it):
-——Despite its status as a level-4 organism, Reston virus is non-pathogenic to humans,
Thanks for posting this, have copied it and sent to son in London.
They did the same thing years ago to my son because he’d been in another hospital where another patient had a contagious disease (our son wasn’t exposed). He was, nonetheless, quarantined for two weeks. I really think it had more to do with the vulnerability of other patients in the pediatric hospital.
