Fort Hood shooter was taking "prescription drugs for depression and anxiety". SSRIs?
"Lopez was undergoing a variety of treatments for conditions including depression, anxiety and sleep disturbances, McHugh said. He was prescribed drugs that included Ambien, a sleep aid. Lopez was fully examined last month by a psychiatrist.
There was no record of any sign he was likely to commit violence against himself or others, according to McHugh. "So the plan (going) forward was just to continue to monitor and treat him as deemed appropriate," he said."
They say that he was "prescribed drugs" but only named one, Ambien, which is used as a "sleep aid".
Ambien also has some "interesting" side effects including hallucinating and seeing dragons.
But Ambien is not used for "depression and anxiety".
Know what is used for depression and anxiety?
The usual psychotropic, anti-depressant, SSRI drugs: Celexa, Luvox, Paxil, Prozac, Zoloft etc.
In the coming days, it will be interesting to find out whether or not he was taking these mind altering medications.
Of-course the media and establishment wont be interested in looking at the real cause of this incident. They'll simply blame firearms in an attempt to push their typical gun grabbing agenda.
Surprise surprise.
And the gun grabbers are okay with doped up killers walking among us (they can kill with guns, knives, cars, fire, and more).
There’s more to this “perfect guy”.
Gun free military bases and dangerous psychiatric drugs: a lethal mixture
Posted on April 3, 2014
“2) Guns are only part of this story and not the most important part. At some point, as uncomfortable as it may be, we need to seriously talk about psychiatric drugs.
This guy was reportedly on a cocktail of drugs, including antidepressants and Ambien.
Please understand, when I say we need to talk about psychiatric drugs, I dont mean it in the same way that many people mean it. They want to talk about strategies to best ensure that we are shoving these pills down as many throats as possible. I, on the other hand, want to guide the conversation in the opposite direction.
The FDA has attached words and phrases like hostility, impulsivity, panic attacks, agitation, homicidal ideation, mania, violent behavior, and psychotic episodes to the list of side effects for numerous psychiatric medications.
Indeed, a thorough review of FDA data confirmed that there is an association between psychotropic pills and these kinds of adverse events.
Its particularly notable that the shooter was evidently taking Ambien, seeing as how Ambien has been especially linked to violent outbursts. Its even been successfully used as a defense in murder trials.”
If he’d been taken alive, would he have been able to mount a successful “not guilty be reason of insanity” defense?
If you cannot be held legally accountable for your actions, then you require a guardian. Period.
All mass shooting murderers seem to be on anti-depressants.
The MSM love to tell us what gun shop the gun came from.
How about what pharmacy the pills came from?
Did he arrive in a GM vehicle?
How did he vote?
Absolutely. That Shitte rewires your brain. Sometimes the wiring goes haywire. Take only as a last ditch effort.

Latest Fort Hood Shooting Raises Questions About Military Mental Care
by Greg Flakus
Military investigators are looking closely at the medical record of Ivan Lopez, the gunman who killed three people and wounded 16 others before taking his life at Fort Hood, Texas Wednesday. Indications that Lopez had mental problems have raised questions about how much mental health help the U.S. military is providing for service members who need it.
As the investigation into this week’s shooting at Fort Hood continues, officials are saying little about the shooter, Army Specialist Ivan Lopez, and have provided little information about what may have been his motive. Other soldiers and family members on the sprawling Army base in central Texas who were acquainted with Lopez described him as friendly and normal in appearance.
Lt. General Mark Milley told reporters Thursday that there is evidence of a history of mental problems that may have contributed to his sudden rampage.
“We have very strong evidence that he had a medical history that indicates an unstable psychiatric or psychological condition,” said Milley.
Yes, there’s more. He was a Puerto Rico police officer on Military Leave. He played in the PRPD band and was not a cop on the beat. He was a good soldier in the PR National Guard, as far as we can tell. He called his two children on the island every day. No criminal record on the island.
I don’t know what happened to him, but he was not knbown as a violent prone person here. So says his ex-wife, his children, his parents, and the mayor of his very small home town.
It’s just crazy.
Second Amendment means lots of guardians around.
A lot of drugs have different effects for different people....
Take alcohol for instance....
Some people drink and become social and easy going and nice.
Some people drink and become morose and sad and depressed.
Some people drink and become violent angry and agitated....
What Hubris these people have who prescribe these drugs to overlook this is simple fact of life.
Drugs can affected different people differently....

I have know people who are conmplete pussycats in regular life but you give them a few drinks and they become angry and violent...
Same could be going on with drugs like ambien....
Especially if you mix them with OTHER psychiatric drugs.....
I had a terrible experience with Ambien. Almost burnt my house down while “sleep cooking.” I used to sleepwalk as a kid, but stopped at about 14 years. Ambien started me doing it again. I hate that stuff!
These treatments cause mass shootings followed by suicide. Ban legal drug pushers.
Fort Hood Shooting: A Wake-up Call for Lawmakers Investigating Psychiatric Drugs & Violence Connection is Long Overdue Says Mental Health Watchdog
Los Angeles, California (PRWEB) April 04, 2014
Violence and psychiatric drugsa deadly formula America is becoming too intimately familiar with and, the mental health watchdog group, Citizens Commission on Human Rights (CCHR) says that rather than continually send heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims, it is time for lawmakers to investigate the connection between prescription psychiatric drugs and violence.
America learned within hours of the April 2nd shooting at Ft. Hood that four people were dead (including the shooter) and 16 had been wounded in the attack. The shooter, 34-year old Army Specialist, Ivan Lopez, served in Iraq for four months in 2011 and according to The New York Times, Secretary of the Army, John McHugh, said Lopez had been “examined by a psychiatrist within the last month, but showed no signs that he might commit a violent act.” Secretary McHugh further explained to the Senate Armed Services Committee that Lopez “had been prescribed Ambien, a sleep aid, and other medication to treat anxiety and depression.”[1]
CCHR says this sounds sadly familiar to the September 2013 Washington Navy Yard attack by Aaron Alexis, who had been taking the antidepressant, Trazadone, when he killed twelve innocent people. [2]
CCHR continues that, psychiatric treatment, in the form of prescription mind-altering drugs, once again is connected to a mass shooting. Yet, despite data showing a connection between psychiatric mind-altering drugs and violence, lawmakers have yet to investigate the connection.[3]
The lack of Congressional action isn’t a matter of being unaware of the connection, states CCHR. For example, in response to the Navy Yard Shooting, U.S. Representative Jeff Miller (R-Fla.), Chairman of the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs, made the connection between psychiatric drugs and Alexis’s attack almost immediately. During an interview with a Washington, D.C., Radio station, WTOP, Chairman Miller said “one of the medications that Alexis received does have a side effect that could in fact have been a problem.” At that time, Chairman Miller directed the Department of Veterans’ Affairs to save all records relating to the 34-year old Alexis. The reason for this action said Chairman Miller was to “make sure everything that could have been done was done, and that the VA does not do something to change the storyline.” [4]

Before I was diagnosed with severe sleep apnea, (I was spending only 20 seconds a night in REM) I was so depressed I was almost non-functional. My GP started me on SSRIs. Theyre supposed to take days or weeks to work. But with each passing day it felt as if all the weight in the world was lifted from my shoulders. After a week I began to wonder exactly how much weight Id accumulated and when Id level out. But having been depressed and taken SSRIs heres may take on what happens to people who start killing. If youre not a killer to begin with they arent going to make you one. Depression takes you so low that perhaps people who react when theyre no longer depressed started with ideation; fantasizing about either killing others or killing themselves. But theyre too depressed to do anything. It was, for example, all I could do to go to work. Every day I had to concentrate so hard at work just to make the decisions, fill out the reports, sign the timecards, etc. that it doing so was all I could do. But once the SSRIs kicked in I was back to really interacting with people, proactively solving problems and looking days or weeks down the road again.
So, theyre depressed. Theyre fantasizing and suddenly they feel better. Thats when they have the energy to act on whatever is in their heads.
The drugs didnt put those ideas there. They just made the man feel good enough he could act on them I praise God for SSRIs. (And, later for a CPAP.)
Let me be quite clear. These drugs MASK the real problem. They do not CURE.
They make the patient appear to be OK. The patient is not OK. Just feels great and the a$$hole doctors who prescribe them smile and think everything is just hunky-dory.
Meanwhile the real problem is still there, and gets worse.
Reintegration is the goal: allowing a seriously ill person to live in the normal world, among normal people.
It’s an illusion.

Also, all of the stories from the original site are available under the Archives tab. These are presented in the traditional site format. Once we have finished the posting of new stories and applying the expanded classification we will make all of this available in this traditional format.
Looks like a copycat to me. Right down to buying his gun at the same store.
