The nationwide shortage of ammunition has left many police departments scrambling to get their hands on the necessary rounds - with some even bartering among each other.
Meanwhile, Rep. Timothy Huelskamp (R-Kansas) says the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has failed to respond to multiple members of Congress asking why DHS bought more than 1.6 billion rounds in the past year.
Police Chief Cameron Arthur of Jenks, Oklahoma says, "Ammunition and assault weapons in general have skyrocketed...In addition to the fact, not only is it a lot more expensive, but the time to get it could be six months to a year, or in some cases even longer."
These damn whack job liberals are for real!
Maybe so, but guess what, a SINGLE bullet can take out any one of them.
We will see them coming before they see us coming.
Local police chief went to a gun shop for some 9mm. Needed to qualify with his personal carry piece. He needed several boxes.
Shop owner would sell him 1 box.
Obama doesn’t have enough of our tax money to keep the country running but he’s sure as hell has enough to buy up all the ammunition? What a piece of shit!
Yes. So is Cabelas, Wal-Mart and everywhere else.
What happened to all those white vans that were posted here as parked vehicles waiting for the UN or something?
It is supply and demand, people have been buying up ammo since 2008, there was a little lull in there when hope took over and they thought Obama wouldn’t be elected but that didn’t last long.
Around here the retired guys know when each place gets shipments and they are there and they buy them all.
Then you add in the government buying all that ammo and it gets pretty scarce,
I’m amazed the free market has not filled this void yet.
I would probably less amazed if I knew how much red tape an entrepreneur would have to go through to manufacture, sell and distribute ammo.
Yep, they are buying all of it! It took me all day to find some 22LR. I found a box of 500 rounds at a gun range across town. A friend also sold me about 250 of hers. I’m trying to stock up when I can.
That is what I thought when I saw the picture, one bullet and look at all the guns you have.
This does not pass the smell test at all...something is up
I agree with you. The free market should have filled the void but something big is going on. No way in hell should there be an ammo shortage.
Yes. And destroying it. Heard a report of a large container of .22lr on a Marine base. Anything to keep it out of our hands.
it could be six months to a year, or in some cases even longer.”
I’m sure there must be ammo makers out there who could put consumers first before they sell to government. Simply put government orders on the back burner for six months to a year.
The “this isn’t unusual” argument was working for me bec a few folks showed that large purchases have been made in the past and — at least on the surface — the math seemed to work.
But if cops can’t get ammo and gov’t officials REFUSE to answer...I’m not buying it anymore. Something really stinks.
The damn government thinks all it has to do is buy all the ammunition? The media says nothing???
Guess who still lives in the same country as the rest of us, and whose home address can be discovered without much trouble?
These bastards think that free men and women, American patriots, are just going to cower in their homes and let them do as they please to us.
They've got a nasty surprise coming if they try...
Dude!
Steel casing? If so, recommend you don’t use it unless as last resort.
