IQ estimates by intended college major via SAT scores
Assuming the mean IQ of SAT test-takers included in a report by the College Board to be 103*, the estimated average IQ of students by intended college major follow. The estimates exclude writing results, which were added in 2005 and constitute what is generally considered the least objectively reliable part of the test**. The critical reading and mathematics (previously known as the quantitative section) portions are equally weighted:

Those score don’t seem right to me.
They all seem too low.
A few of the top 8 seem to be over rated.
Oh, boy . . . Here we go.
All of them? Even culinary services and security guards?
I’ll wager the average Freeper is smarter than most of these people... I have never found a brighter bunch than the freeps.
Security officer.
Library Science 108 ?
Physical Sciences - is that really a major ?
I apologize in advance
I was an engineer in my first life, and went to culinary school later in life. While some cooks would have to stand on their tippy-toes to reach 80, some of us came out of other fields. Best cook I ever knew had been a lawyer until his heart attack.
NONE of his kitchen guys spent more than one night in county. ;)

Physical sciences is like chemistry, physics...etc
Those are the scores for all SAT test takers with their hoped-for majors. That includes those who will never go on to, let alone graduate from college—and they’ve not yet had a chance to flunk out of their desired major.
I am not sure if those scores are accurate but one thing I do recall is the college of education at my school was just full of elementary education majors.
They were all girls and they tended to be absolute babes.
These scores are way low.
What a pile of cow excrement.
It would take a far higher IQ to be a good engineer.
If those SAT scores are accurate, I would guess that those scores reflect ability, not inherent IQ. The US, despite spending more per student than many countries put together, has some of the poorest scores in the Western Hemisphere, to which low score are going to reflect a poor education, not a low IQ.
I was going to say that a few of the top ones (the physical sciences, math and statistics, etc.) seemed *under*rated, but revised it because not everybody who *majors* in a field necessarily will *enter* that field, be successful in it, or even graduate, for that matter.
Physical science is a group: chemistry, physics, biology, etc.
I take it only bookish types have an interest in library science.
Really, this study show blacks as barley above moronic.
Library science is a real diploma.
There is a lot more to being a librarian than putting books on a shelf. The modern librarian has to know how all media formats work, as well as, how to organize information so it’s readily accessible by a Joe Schmo.
Public administration and social services 96.6
