Hello,
My wife's (FReeper hellinahandcart) dad has been undergoing chemo and radiation therapy for a fast growing cancer. He's nearing the end of his treatments, but there appears to be something else very wrong.
She says that he is basically out of his mind. This apparently is not related to his cancer, according to the doctors. They are trying to get him to take a CAT scan but he is having none of it. He is also suffering from hallucinations now.
On top of that, he may be coming down with pneumonia and his white blood cell count is down on account of the cancer treatments.
I ask your prayers for either his healing or a quick end.
Please pray for HHC and her family (mom, two brothers). She is going through a tough time.

That’s a tough situation. My thoughts and prayers are with you guys. Lost my pop to the big C in 2007. Hang in there as best you can. Tell him as often as you can you love him and what he means to you.
Some side effects of meds are remarkable! So don’t count it out entirely. My thoughts are with you in this rough time. I’m glad he has you both looking out for him.
A friend had a similar reaction after back surgery. Her mind was confused for over a month. She finally came back from where ever she was and is her old self again. God Bless your father.

Prayers lifted for Jim, and for you all. Dear Lord, please share Your strength with Jim’s family, as they try to work with his medical team, and please Lord, guide them as they search for an answer to Jim’s problem.

One of the hardest things is the fact that you are unable to do anything but be there and be sure he’s comfortable. I’ve been there. My prayers are with your wife, you and the family. May God bless her father and grant him peace.
Pod, I have prayed for Jim and for you and your wife for strength, courage, and for Jim, a return to a sound mind.
It is not uncommon for chemo patients to experience a fogginess of mind for varying lengths of time. It may be how HHC’s dad is reacting to the cumulative level of chemo in his system, with such effects being worsened by incorrect dosages. Sometimes the medical folk do not communicate with each other, and are not aware of what else the patient is taking. Likewise, if Jim is not taking certain meds that he is supposed to, that may be a reason for his reactions also.
I’m praying for wisdom for you also ‘pod, to know what to do, and what questions to ask the doctors. God bless your family.
Jim and HHC and her family will be in my prayers tonight and every night,Pod. Also a special prayer that the doctors can somehow pin down the cause. These last days are hard enough without these complications. Hugs to you all.

My best guess is some kind of inflamation in the brain. A tumor might do it. An infection definitely could do it. Or the chemo might do it.
I would try motrin and/or nyquil if they are allowed and see what happens.
Prayers for the dad involved here. Walking the cancer road is not fun. I know.
