Billion-Dollar Obama Machine Would Cut Santorum to Ribbons
Reaganite Republican ^ | February 16, 2012 | Reaganite Republican

Cutting-to-the-chase, Rick Santorum is a very weak and uncharismatic candidate, one who was almost completely ignored until all more savory choices where destroyed in Romney/PAC/MSM/negative attacks. Basically, he’s still here because nobody bothered to even look at him, let alone slander. Much like Obama, he's become a 'blank slate' that allows people to see what they want to see... but why delude yourself out of some false sense of necessity?

With his hollow record of accomplishment, zero leadership experience, whining demeanor, and loser’s aura in the wake of getting trounced by 19 pts last time out (as an incumbent!), Obama will simply paint him a nosy church-lady and intolerant kook as he CUTS HIM TO SHREDS in November.

Since the Left would love for Santorum to be the nominee, you’re not hearing a peep from them- yet.  But the the progs would have a field-day with Ricky, given the chance. Obama himself plans a billion dollar campaign... most of it negative, sure as you're born.

And as noted by VodkaPundit, Santorum does like to pontificate on almost any topic you care to serve-up, and therein lies another problem: Ramblin' Rick doesn't seem able to stay on-message -or really to even have one: a walking, talking disaster in the presidential election (even worse if he managed to find his way to the Oval Office).

All I know is this: I didn’t just fight for three years, day-in-and-day-out just to hook up my wagon to a lame nag like this... rather go to a brokered convention and beg Palin to run.

Never thought I'd miss Bachmann and Perry so much either... WHY did they even pack it in and hand so much to Santorum? Either would have been far more preferable from where I'm standing.

If Newt’s third comeback (pending) doesn’t materialize in time, maybe we can get somebody else to step up in Orlando… but no Santorum, please.

The so called “Reaganite Republican” appears to be violating the 11th commandment of Republicans, as stated by Ronald Reagan - do not speak ill of your fellow Republicans. In other words, who do these folks represent?

They said virtually the exact same thing about my congressman who was himself voted out of office in the election two years before.

He’s in office today and the former democrat incumbent is about $8 million poorer.

I love the way we’re so terrified of Obama that we’re desperately trying to mold our race to the democrats and ideology is nothing but a stumbling block.

Souls are non refundable. You sell it and its gone.

Bachmann has bigger, much bigger, kahuna’s than Santorum. Her votes in congress prove it. She is not a life long politician. She has run and currently runs private business.
She is fearless.

Santorum’s voting record:

Santorum is a humorless Bush reincarnate that stumbled upon the magical talking points. He's better than Romney, but not as capable as Newt.

Rick's a good guy, but it's not his time, he's too green.

"The sorry fact this is true means our society may be beyond saving (other than the return of Jesus Christ)."

Let's worry about saving the Republic first and let Society do as it will until such time as we can get to it.

You may be right. Our country may have crossed the Rubicon.

But I'm not going down without a fight.

A polished rock can beat Obama as long as it constantly beats him up over the economy - job losses, unemployment, weeks of unemployment, bank losses, downgrades, the soaring deficit, job losses, gas prices, electricity rates, job losses, factory closings, job losses, job losses, job losses...

A frozen turd can beat Obama running this way.

“It’s the economy, stupid!”

If whoever gets the nomination doesn’t have that posted in 4-foot high letters in their campaign HQ, then they get what they deserve.

“It’s the economy, stupid!”
“It’s the economy, stupid!”
“It’s the economy, stupid!”
“It’s the economy, stupid!”
“It’s the economy, stupid!”
“It’s the economy, stupid!”

But Santorum is a bore, and not an exciting candidate. He is no Sarah Palin when giving speeches. Not to mention a horrible debater. Name one of the debates to date that he has won?

How about the one on CNN on January 26? Several commentators, including John Podhoretz gave Santorum the nod.

because they wanted a Demonocratic majority in the Senate.

And they rightly perceived Santorum to be vulnerable.

But there was another factor at play here. Santorum's senatorial opponent was Bob Casey. In Pennsylvania, the name Casey carries some magic, much like Kennedy in Massachusetts.

So here we had a vulnerable, uninspiring candidate (Santorum) against a magic name (Casey). Down went Santorum.

The same would happen if it were Santorum against the magic Obama. Except that Obama is a much, much better campaigner than Casey was.

Landslide Obama, fer sure.

“It’s the economy, stupid!”

In fact, when Carville beat daddy Bush focused on the economy, it wasn’t 1/10th as bad as it is now.

Do all of you all realize that if a Republican was president today, every newspaper in the nation would be running stories about “Depression Deepens”, “McCain Depresion sees more job losses”, “Grim Times in McCain Depression”.

The gift Obama gave us was to win the presidency at the start of an economic depression. Anybody running on Obama vs. The Economy is going to beat him. Anybody. Santorum. Ron Paul. Ru Paul. Anybody.

Interesting.

You cite Obama’s billion dollar money machine. My information says that Obama isn’t going to raise anywhere near that amount.

You state that Obama’s big money machine will destroy Santorum. Well which candidate did better against Romney’s big money machine, Gingrich or Santorum?

You state “Since the Left would love for Santorum to be the nominee, you’re not hearing a peep from them- yet”...I guess you haven’t been paying attention to the HHS mandate on contraceptives/abortificants that will affect the Catholic Church. Funny that Santorum is Catholic, and the mandate came out just after Santorum’s MN/MO/CO wins.

Others state “what about Santorum’s accomplishments?” No matter what you think of Santorum, this race will NOT be ran on accomplishments...Obama has failed miserably in that department and Obama will avoid any discussion of accomplishments.

The GOP’s insiders didn’t expect Ronnie to do well either.

But the Obama machine would play nice with Romrich? Yeah sure. Thanks for helping out Romney’s spin machine. I am sure they appreciate.

So what is your point?

Rick Santorum is a very weak and uncharismatic candidate who will be shredded by Obama's billion dollar smear machine.

Newt Gingrich is a very weak and divissive candidate, who will be shredded by Obama's billion dollar smear machine.

Mitt Romney is a very weak and uncharismatic and slimey candidate who will be shredded by Obama's billion dollar smear machine.

Ron Paul is just nucking futz.

A brokered convention hands the nomination to Romney so that is no different than a vote for Romney. It sucks no matter who we nominate so embrace the suck and enjoy the ride.

You scream and beat your chest about working day in and day out for three years but then beg like a little girl...please...

Stop whining and go buy a sweater vest, because when July rolls around and Santorum is the nominee you'll be claiming that you were for him all along.

You can't be a Reaganite anything, because you denigrate your opponent too much.

There seems to be a coordinated carpet-bombing attack on Santorum on FreeRepublic over the past 24 hours. Far too many threads and posts attacking Santorum for it to be happenstance.......Who are you guys working for?

Well I'm for Newt...but you do know that it's Santorum's turn...he' the new candidate of the hour....it's simply his time to step up and defend himself on the issues he needs to clarify. He better know how to do that since the Obama machine will of course nail him on those issues.

Santorum's from my state and they booted him for one of many reasons.....one of which he goes too far right for most folks on his social issues...maybe it was just how he comes across as the "Preacher-Man" and carried such a large degree of self-righteousness and arrogance in how he presented the issues....but he sure turned the majority completely off to him. ....and we're seeing that surface now in the primary as otheers take note.

I’m sticking with Santorum. He was my 3rd choice line in the sand candidate.

Its him or the GOP is on its own.

No more compromises from me.

You are correct. What Santorum does repeatedly is, when he is up, or in the lead, he gets overconfident and shoots his mouth off, namely over the top of his foot.

Secondly, when Santorum is down or behind, he gets almost childlike, whinny, snide and brags about himself and what he has (allegedly) accomplished. He also gets that sneer on his face and looks dejected.

He has no appeal or charisma and against Obama, will get so thoroughly beaten that it will take decades to recover from the damage of having him as our candidate.
