Billion-Dollar Obama Machine Would Cut Santorum to Ribbons
Reaganite Republican ^ | February 16, 2012 | Reaganite Republican

Cutting-to-the-chase, Rick Santorum is a very weak and uncharismatic candidate, one who was almost completely ignored until all more savory choices where destroyed in Romney/PAC/MSM/negative attacks. Basically, he’s still here because nobody bothered to even look at him, let alone slander. Much like Obama, he's become a 'blank slate' that allows people to see what they want to see... but why delude yourself out of some false sense of necessity?

With his hollow record of accomplishment, zero leadership experience, whining demeanor, and loser’s aura in the wake of getting trounced by 19 pts last time out (as an incumbent!), Obama will simply paint him a nosy church-lady and intolerant kook as he CUTS HIM TO SHREDS in November.

Since the Left would love for Santorum to be the nominee, you’re not hearing a peep from them- yet.  But the the progs would have a field-day with Ricky, given the chance. Obama himself plans a billion dollar campaign... most of it negative, sure as you're born.

And as noted by VodkaPundit, Santorum does like to pontificate on almost any topic you care to serve-up, and therein lies another problem: Ramblin' Rick doesn't seem able to stay on-message -or really to even have one: a walking, talking disaster in the presidential election (even worse if he managed to find his way to the Oval Office).

All I know is this: I didn’t just fight for three years, day-in-and-day-out just to hook up my wagon to a lame nag like this... rather go to a brokered convention and beg Palin to run.

Never thought I'd miss Bachmann and Perry so much either... WHY did they even pack it in and hand so much to Santorum? Either would have been far more preferable from where I'm standing.

If Newt’s third comeback (pending) doesn’t materialize in time, maybe we can get somebody else to step up in Orlando… but no Santorum, please.

Psycho - calm down. It’s an honest question. Where did I use the word “threats” and “attacks”? I’m not your enemy. Just posting an observation and a question.

My plan is to vote for the candidate on Super-Tuesday here in Ohio who has the best chances of denying Romney Ohio’s delegates.

Get used to it.

>> Who are you guys working for? <<

Although a lot of legitimante Freepers have opposed Santorum, it looks more and more to me as if DU has sent over a bunch of “fake Freepers” to stir up chaos and dissent.

“I’ll vote for any of them against Obama but at this point they (and we) have created a ridiculous negative narrative.”

100% in agreement.

since the media is so focussed on the GOP hopefuls’ criticisms of each other, it would be nice for the Republican candidates to start throwing some red-meat criticism at the current occupier of the WH, so that one could hope [in our dreams] that the MSM would repeat some of that material to enlighten the sheeple for a change.

Well I agree with the article. No one is going to follow Mr. Rogers out of the foxhole into machine gun fire wearing camy sweater vests. No one believes Gingrich is a saint, but both Romney and Santorum play one on TV. I’ll vote for the guy I can have a beer with.

Horse poopey. Do you think they won’t cut Newt or Romney to shreads?

Man up, this is going to be ugly and a double divorcee with ethics troubles, a lurid history with women, or a billionaire guy with no principles, will fair far worse than Rick Santorum.

Good grief.

They`re ALL going to get flayed by Obama`s machine, so that whole argument is a wash.

Look, Romney`s dropping like a stone and Gingrich is tanking as well. Some of us want the social conservative message put forward, and the only one willing and able to do that is Santorum.

Enough of the establishment pushing weak moderates. If America is going down, let her go down fighting!

Sorry, have to disagree.

Ronald Reagan was a giant. One did not have to look at anyone else in comparison to recognize that he was a giant. He is no longer even among us, and he is still a giant.

When I look at Obama and Peelousy, I’ll just leave Biden out, because he isn’t even worth discussing, I see two communist radicals who desire for control runs so deep that they will stop at nothing to achieve their ends.

When I look at our side, I see no one who stands for anything outside of Allen West. I mean, seriously, I am trying to think of all the victories the GOP has achieved since the TEA Party returned it to power in 2010, and so help me God, I cannot think of even one...

Santorum has NO chance of being Obama

Correct you are. As a Pennsylvanian, I can attest to how weak and bland Santorum. He has no real record of accomplishments at all.

When I mentioned that on another thread, someone replied with something like this: "Rick has many accomplishments. For example, he sponsored Senate Bill 800 (or whatever) that limited Syria's right to import US goods."

Well, of what value was that? Who cared? Did it gain him any votes, any admiration? Nope, he lost in a landslide. Enough with the Bob Dole type bland, uninspiring candidates. I'm not a Newt supporter (Cain was my man), but at least Newt has some charisma.

Santorum reminds of a high school hall monitor who is currently running for president of the chess club.

How did this guy win in 2 different Dem congress districts and twice in a Democratic state if he is so terrible. He’s not my ‘guy’, but he’s a heck of a lot better than Romney, and doesn’t have the negatives of Newt.

If only Tim Pawlenty had stayed in the race, so there would be a charismatic conservative with executive experience to face off against Romney...and one who has never lost a race in Pennsylvania.

We have got to throw everything we have at 0bama’s massive money machine. It is IMPERATIVE that we look at this upcoming election this way: We MUST win or America is DONE. Period. That’s no overdramatization,no handwringing,no overblown statement. It’s simply a statement of fact. To say that this is a must-win election is understating the importance of it.We have to work harder, donate more time, money and resources than we ever have before. If the guy you support is behind, back him up with everything you have to offer. If Santorum is your man, please do the same. But what we really, really need to do is to stop attacking each other, and stop bashing anyone who has a chance to beat the most aggressively leftist regime we have ever faced. Just sayin’.

Zer0 has more than his $billion war chest. He has been spending much more on those government checks and growing the entitlement mentality.

And one more thing, PLEASE share with me any anti-Newt posts that are newer than last May. My posts on Newt in the past were two-fold - attacking him for endorsing DeDe Scozafava and trashing Paul Ryan’s budget as “right wing social engineering”. My posts on Newt this campaign have been very positive AND if I’m so nasty to Newt why on Earth did I send him $50?

You are so off base that you are embarrassing yourself. Get your facts straight before you launch into rage.

“Well, this weak and uncharismatic candidate just bested the Romney machine in three states that Romney was supposed to win, and he’s currently leading in Michigan, where “Romney” was a household word even before his dad served as governor.”

yes, but the most important contest comes this November, and is Santorum up to the challenge? i hope i’m wrong in my assessment of his abilities and approach to governing should he win. Newt is our best hope, i believe, against the MSM 24/7 BO propaganda organ.

We're the ones who don't shift with the winds and fall for whoever seems to have caught fire for the moment. I don't have nothing against Santorum. His conservative credentials are far less worrisome than Mitts, and he is far more able to attract the moderate and women's vote than Newt. But Santorum is a bore, and not an exciting candidate. He is no Sarah Palin when giving speeches. Not to mention a horrible debater. Name one of the debates to date that he has won? My fear is Obama would shred him up starting from the first debate. Maybe he will mature as a candidate and shock me, but he has a lot to do and very little time to do it in.

Yes and would apply to ANY principled Christian.

The sorry fact this is true means our society may be beyond saving (other than the return of Jesus Christ).

Santorum may have voted for many big government bills in congress, but he will be 1000% better than the current occupant progressive socialist Obama.

I will swim through alligator infested rivers to vote for Santorum if he is the nominee.

What ever, dude.....But after the MSM gets through with Santorum, it will make what they did to Newt look like the monologue on Mr. Rodgers Neighborhood. You have no idea what the MSM is already starting to unload on the “Reverend Rick”.

As rapidly as the electorate switches loyalty these days, Newt could very well be back on top in a matter of days when it most counts. Either way, the very real possibility of a Brokered Convention, is now very much in play. And your candidate is still, as boring as ever.
