Firefox’s rapid-release is one of the most asinine ideas any software company every came up with.
Extension/Add-on developers, many of whom develop those extensions as a sideline, are not able to keep up with the rapid-release INSANITY.
I have some extensions that the developers ceased updating with the FF6 release.
Firefox has lost touch with reality. People use Firefox to be more productive. Rapid-release actually hampers real-world productivity.
Firefox still has memory leakage and memory consumption problems. I recently noticed sluggishness with FF. I had only one tab windows open. I loaded Task Manager and found Firefox consuming over 900mb of RAM.

The Old-and-Broken 8012 has already gone into Testing, and Nightly is at 8045. Its the New Hotness.
8045 is so 27 seconds ago.

I solved my memory problem: I downloaded an extension that put “restart” on my file menu. I restart occasionally without even thinking about it. All of my opened tabs are there after restart.

I use several of those extensions you list.
Sadly, Screengrab is no longer upgraded.
from the developer:
FF changes too fast and I don't have the time to maintain it anymore. Bugs have developed that I am not in a position to investigate.
Therefore, Screengrab is EOL. Sorry.

I was a longtime Firefox user but have made the switch to Chrome and have been quite happy there. I think FF suffers from both code bloat and organizational bloat - don’t think they’re lean and mean either as a code base or as an organization.

The ONLY Bitch I have w/ Firefox is the lastest version (9.0.1) has problems with or will NOT bring up .pdf files, They just FREEZE!

Question:
I installed Greasemonkey and restarted. I clicked on the FR Treeview install script button, but the Greasemonkey script installation panel doesn’t pop up. Any ideas about what I need to do?

I have no idea what you are posting about? The referenced post was regarding Firefox, its extenstions, and its memory consumption.

This reminds me of an Apple Commercial. Yep. Written by a bunch of commies. "Principle over profit" ... "greater good" ... "making a difference" ...
I think I'll puke.
Is there another decent browser that isn't written by a bunch of self-righteous, leftist, urban poofters?

Do all you FF users run greasemonkey with the FreeRepublic scripts? You can get tree view, video embedding and form posting enhancement. Good stuff! Just the form posting enhancements so far -- GREAT STUFF!!

FF is on version 9 and I'm still on v 3.6.25 and will be until they quit doing security upgrades. There are ways to force continued use of some add-ons that have not been updated, but it would be better if they didn't put out a new version every other month.
