Lame Duck President - Sarah Palin

Now the President is outraged because the GOP House leadership called his bluff and ended discussions with him because they deemed him an obstruction to any real solution to the debt crisis.

He has been deemed a lame duck president. And he is angry now because he is being treated as such.

His foreign policy strategy has been described as “leading from behind.” Well, that’s his domestic policy strategy as well. Why should he be surprised that he’s been left behind in the negotiations when he’s been leading from behind on this debt crisis?

Thank you, GOP House leaders. Please don’t get wobbly on us now.

2012 can’t come soon enough.

Her ORIGINAL phrase, “death panels” brought people’s attention to the true content and thrust of Obamacare. Yeah; she’s so not original. /sarc/

I won’t color you “cynical”; I’ll color you “fact challenged”. But there’s hope for you, and there’s still time for you to get up to speed.

“I believe with every fiber of my being that Palin will become OUR Iron Lady.”

I pray that’s true. Bachmann is polling high, but I believe that when/if Sarah declares, the Bachmann supporters will go to Sarah. Michele’s done a great job paving the way, and I hope she’s able to get behind Sarah when the time comes.

“However, I suspect Rita is just a troll.”

Agree. She probably has two browsers open at the same time — DU for grabbing pathetic ideas, and FR for posting the silliness. The ol’ cut-and-paste. She’s only been on FR since 2010, and probably in the DU cesspool for a decade.

“Why the hell are we excepting Facebook posts?”

Do you mean “accepting” or “excerpting”?

Those are two VERY strong reasons for the existence of female Sarah haters.

And the third is simply that they’re jealous. She “has it all” — accomplishments, beauty, personality/charisma, fierce independence (as do most Alaskan women), smarts, a supportive husband — and it drives them insane. Literally insane!

“Repeating the “This is the president who” is a rhetorical technique that causes the reader to focus on each point individually. A tool quite frequently used by politicians.”

That technique/cadence is a necessary tool of dictators as well.

Rita’s going down in flames, so she tagged her teammate to come into the game.

You do know that the reason the trademark gave for quitting with 18 months left was that she was a "lame-duck", don't you?

I guess irony is lost on some folks, even when it's the 600 pound gorilla in the room.

"Sorry. Saint Sarah does not understand what "lame duck" means."

Yeah. You are sorry. It's okay, though. In less than a month, when Sarah announces her candidacy, the roar from middle America will rise up to a crescendo that will drown out the feeble mewlings and piccayune criticisms of the nattering nabobs and drooling dunces like you once and for all.

You have to try to understand... there are things, of vital importance, that actually matter to the future of this great nation... and then there's you.

Sorry.

So if it comes down between Obama’s lame duckness and Palin’s “lame-duckness” in 2012, I’m quite curious as to who you would vote for? No caveats please just a straight up and down vote for you, Obama or Palin?

"That technique/cadence is a necessary tool of dictators as well."

Mmmmm. It's also a tactic used by numb naysayers who sit on the sidelines trying to think up new reasons not to do what's best for America. Inbred imbeciles who actually want us to maintain this unsustainable status-quo, and petulant party hacks who still think Bob Dole was a smart choice.

Go buy some vegetables. Then you'll have some nice friends who you can relate to on your own intellectual level. I hear the rutabaga are especially sardonic this season...

Anybody but obama.

That said, I absolutely believe that trademark is neither qualified nor electable.

And, her, I quit because the people of Alaska don't deserve a lame duck, because all they do is flit around, excuse was one of the funniest I've ever seen.

This is the definition of "lame duck" that applies to American politics:

2 : an elected official or group continuing to hold political office during the period between the election and the inauguration of a successor

In fact, The Trademark herself gave this as her reason for quitting.

From the resignation speech of Sarah Palin (™):

And so as I thought about this announcement that I wouldn’t run for re-election and what it means for Alaska, I thought about how much fun some governors have as lame ducks… travel around the state, to the Lower 48 (maybe), overseas on international trade – as so many politicians do. And then I thought – that’s what’s wrong – many just accept that lame duck status, hit the road, draw the paycheck, and “milk it”. I’m not putting Alaska through that – I promised efficiencies and effectiveness! ? That’s not how I am wired. I am not wired to operate under the same old “politics as usual.” I promised that four years ago – and I meant it.

You can read the full transcript here and watch the speech here: Part1 Part2

I don't know how you can claim lame duck status when you have 16 months left in your term.

BTW, a few months later with Bill O'Reilly, she again cited the "lame duck" status as her reason for quitting.

Interesting use of “Saint” in EveningStar’s posting. Might want to check on the use of this word in the New Testament...it's not nearly as derogatory as you wanted it to be....
