I think they're teaching them stock phrases in the police academies now.

By doing this, the police act as if they have something sinister to hide. It doens’t inspire confidence.

where in the world would someone get the crazy idea they could stand in their yard and record something going on in the street? I bet she didn't have her papers with her either.

The day will soon come when the police will wish that citizens were only videotaping them.

I’ve had leo’s arrest me (once) in error and let me go w grace (once) when I was in error. We need them. But this is getting ridiculous. Where are the leo’s on FR to comment on this?

This is an issue in Afghanistan. When there are civilian casualties, the people on the scene with cell phones send the video directly to news outlets in several countries. By the time staff in country can respond, it’s all over the news.
That does not happen here just yet, but I think cops and The Powers That be are being proactive.
The kid in SanFran (I think) that got killed by a policeman mistaking his Glock for a Taser- the video was all over the place before there could be an Official Police Statement.

I am not sure what is more disturbing ... what the cops did or the fact that there are a significant number of people commenting that the cops were correct in what they did.

I think this woman was trying to provoke the police. How hard would it have been for her to go into her home when asked? ..... COMMENT FROM LC3127 This woman is part of an anti-police group in the city that provoke police to hopefully get them to over react. There was no over reaction here. She knew what she was doing and clearly did not listen to an order. She listened when he asked her to step back but never to go in the house...weird. Who goes outside to get fresh air with a camera in hand? Someone who is doing it on purpose to interfere with a police investigation. She has been arrested before so she knows what she's doing.

Everytime I see these type of vid’s it reminds me of the old Robin Hood movie w Erroll Flynn. The cops are just the soldiers of Prince John. We’re all just peasants. And seemingly helpless. Very disconcerting. I don’t expect perfection but don’t apply for the job if you can’t handle the job.

The peasants have got to be taught their place. All in all she is lucky that they did not kill her. Usually right after, “I don’t feel safe”, or “ I felt my life was in danger”, they start shooting.

My late uncle (and my best man at my wedding) was a career officer back when the motto “To Protect and Serve” actually meant something.
But it’s stuff like that causes me to advise folks about whom I care that if they ever find themselves in a bar frequented by cops to leave IMMEDIATELY. They are armed, possibly drunk and they’re ALWAYS RIGHT!
