"The woman was videotaping a traffic stop in front of her house at night. The video speaks for itself."

This is an issue in Afghanistan. When there are civilian casualties, the people on the scene with cell phones send the video directly to news outlets in several countries. By the time staff in country can respond, it’s all over the news.
That does not happen here just yet, but I think cops and The Powers That be are being proactive.
The kid in SanFran (I think) that got killed by a policeman mistaking his Glock for a Taser- the video was all over the place before there could be an Official Police Statement.
Think I’ll stay down here for a while longer.
Exactly. The police reflect the attitude of the parasite class of government. Our Founders were correct to call government evil. The evil at all levels of government grows worse each year. Someday there will be blow back against these arrogant elites. I hope they are showed no mercy.
This video should make the blood boil of anyone who reveres our Constitution.
These cops have NO respect for the Constitution and less for the citizens they abuse.
I am not sure what is more disturbing ... what the cops did or the fact that there are a significant number of people commenting that the cops were correct in what they did.
The cop wasn’t too smart. He should have asked her to either go inside her house or film from a location were she wouldn’t be in the line of fire in the event the situation with the original suspect escalated. You know for her safety.
By saying he was concerned for his safety because she was standing behind him he admitted on camera she wasn’t in any danger and a court will find it laughable that she represented a threat to the officer.
I wonder what the follow-up story to this incident (it occurred last month) was?
should have clarified - people posting to the youtube video
Stay safe...
That is such BS. Such unmitigated BS. Such made-up, Now-I-have-an-excuse-because-I've paved-the-way-to-take-away-your-rights BS.
I’ve had several conversations with ex-cops. The most interesting was one who’s father is still an elected sheriff. To whittle it down, roughly 50% of cops are basically ex-high scholl jock types that could not find any other job that took advantage of their “abilities”. They like the machismo and can be regular brown shirts. The other half are either naive kids thinking they will change the world and guys that do as little work (including pulling people over) as possible and have a taste for donuts.
If you have ever blatantly run a traffic light or otherwise broke the law right in front of a cop, and he didn’t do anything, you were probably lucky to be seeing the latter in action. :)
Everytime I see these type of vid’s it reminds me of the old Robin Hood movie w Erroll Flynn. The cops are just the soldiers of Prince John. We’re all just peasants. And seemingly helpless. Very disconcerting. I don’t expect perfection but don’t apply for the job if you can’t handle the job.
Yeah, I'm seein' that too. Glad I don't live in those sewers. (No offense to those good freepers that have to by no-choice)
When the SHTF and that hard rain falls, the local cops will be doing what the rest of us will be doing....staying home to protect their families or bugging out for safe haven.
They aren't going to armor up, arm up and go out risking their lives in order to harrass citizens or hunt zombies.
At the local level, the chain of command will disolve rather rapidly.
Police don’t like video tapes when they break the rules, if they arrest by the book the video can actually help the officer at trial.
One only has to watch that tape to see that it was no mistake. The BART cop was justly convicted.
Even if she was part of an ‘anti-police’ group, she was standing on her private property, completely acting within her legal rights. There was absolutely no indication of any probable cause of a law being violated, eminent danger, and obviously no warrant.
I’m not one to bash LEOs, I think the 90% good ones are being tarnished by the 10% bad ones, however, if the video tape tells an honest tale, she was in the right.
This is similar to all other matters of rights- they are inherent. Laws are there to protect our inherent rights and limit infringement of those rights. It has become bass-ackwards.
“There’s no way to rule innocent men. The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren’t enough criminals, one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible to live without breaking laws.” - Ayn Rand
One only has to watch that tape to see that it was no mistake. The BART cop was justly convicted.
New Orleans after Katrina was the perfect example of this.
The peasants have got to be taught their place. All in all she is lucky that they did not kill her. Usually right after, “I don’t feel safe”, or “ I felt my life was in danger”, they start shooting.
My late uncle (and my best man at my wedding) was a career officer back when the motto “To Protect and Serve” actually meant something.
But it’s stuff like that causes me to advise folks about whom I care that if they ever find themselves in a bar frequented by cops to leave IMMEDIATELY. They are armed, possibly drunk and they’re ALWAYS RIGHT!
