Apparently thats what a survival expert is saying.
My opinion? Unless theres a real threat to you, leaving your safe, stocked, defensible home, where you know your neighbors, where you have a job and means to support yourself in a complicated economic time, lets say its not the smartest thing to do.

FerFal also list this link in the article to a Sarajevo Survival Guide:

If you havent already I urge you to start getting prepared now. I truely believe that time is growing short very short.
IMHO we will see within the next six months a economic collapse much like that of Argentinas, which Ferfal has write much about and which there is a excellent documentry about on YouTube here is the link to Part One:

And remember as a armed society and one which contains a much more violent crimial and entitlement minded element our collapse is much more likely to be very violent than Argentinas was/is. I see places big blue cities mostly were what I call Pocket pogroms and you better be ready to get out and quick!
For those who would like to get started preparing I have updated my Preparedness Manual and added the following sections:
19. A Highly-Mobility 72 Hour Kit-by Ward Dorrity
55. Step by Step Earthbag Construction-by Dr. Owen Geiger

Absolutely agree. That said, it’s not a bad idea to have a good friend out in the country with land, a well, crops, livestock, and good sight lines just in case. (I’m in Texas, so “guns and ammo” goes without saying in the country...)
It is not a good time to be a city dweller.
“It is not a good time to be a city dweller.”
Fair enough, but not time to bug out yet. It is definitely time to have a good line of retreat in place, though.
PS I live in the burbs.
I live in the burbs, too....and most neighbors here won’t talk politics....but, I DO know one of my neighbors gave GWH Bush his Security briefing upon his election....and we’ve had them over for wine...
I’m one of those good friends out in the country who’s been preparing for a long time. I still have a good job too but I’m not depending on someone else’s hard work and planning to save me. I have a feeling I’m going to have way more family and friends than I can handle. Please don’t depend on someone else’s benevolence.
Become proficient with it.
Soon.
“Please dont depend on someone elses benevolence.”
I’m not. It’s planned. There are few invitees. We are invited. Why? We bring valuable skills and materiel to the table, and we see the world the same way.
It’s not random benevolence. It’s an actual plan if the SHTF.

People drive stupidly when the traffic lights go goofy. The best thing to do during the apocalypse is to sit w a six pack and a case of cigarettes and watch in on tv until the cable goes out.
I don't know the time frame, but yes, we are going to see a very similar collapse as what happened in Argentina. No need to panic, however. How about finding faith in God and His son Jesus and associating with people who really have that faith and continuing to work and mind your own business.
Oh, and BTW, we have several weeks of food, several months of concentrates (we won’t be happy, but we won’t be malnourished), several months of water (no joke), and the means to protect it all for a quite a while.
If we are asked to relo by our friend or if we have to relo, things will be beyond bad, and our skill set will be needed...
Best. Post. Yet!
Good. Glad to hear it. One less person I’ll have to shoot. Kidding...
Preparing is too much work. I’m just going to rob all of the guys living in the country. >.<
Number 1: Buy a gun
Number 2: Buy a Motorcycle
The rest is easier i guess to figure out...
What kind of wine do they like:)
Grandkids are on an M&M kick. Need to stockpile more M&M’s & chocolate:) I stockpile for family members that are too young (or busy trying to stay afloat)to know what’s coming.
