Sean is on my side, bless his heart. But I just can't stand listening to him. Judging from his ratings, there are lots of people in this country who would disagree with me, and that's okay.
But in my mind, he's very shallow in his analysis of the day's events.
I need more than what he provides.
I'm a fan of Glenn Beck.
I know that there are lots of my fellow Freepers who dislike Glenn, and the programming that he presents, for whatever reason.
That's okay, too.
My purpose in making this post is to ask you for alternatives.
If you don't listen to Hannity, is there someone else you prefer?
If you can't stand Beck, who do you listen to?
What other hosts do you think might be worthy of our attention?
no Ruth’s Criss steak for you.
I can't stand Hannity's football and "Great, great, great..." whatever. I go to the food network or TCM after Bret.
I agree. He is very difficult to listen to. He starts every other sentence with, ‘Now,’ says ‘you know’ almost every ten seconds, and is generally too much to take. In my market, Lou Dobbs is on against him for one hour, and Steve Malzberg for two. So, unless Sean has a guest I want to hear, I don’t listen to him that much.
I go to Sirius satellite and listen to Tom Sullivan.
I just want to slap him and say man up! But insteand I just don't watch. Hannity is shallow and cannot go beyond bullet points. Still, both are immensely better than anyone the left has to offer. I turned on that hate station MSNBC the other night and it was disgusting. Just hate. They cover Fox News and just don't even bother with events.
Rush, Beck, Savage and Rusty Humphries pretty much round out my day. Best guest hosts are when Steyn fills in for Rush and Dwight Schultz fills in for Rusty. Laura Ingraham gets an honorable mention. All of the above are better than Hannity. The one I truly find repulsive is Boortz.
Yes. He also talks about himself way too much.
I look at Beck and Hannity this way: In some areas Beck gets an A and in others he gets a C, for an average grade of B. Hannity gets a B in everything, for an average of B.
Sean is boring IMO.
I have trouble listening to Beck show because of all the banter, it seems like a show of committee.
Mark Levin is a true pitbull for our side.
I like Hannity, but can’t stand listening to him mostly because of the way of his voice inflections. He always talks in a sing song way...with his voice going up at the end of each sentence. It drives me crazy.
Not to mention, he is repetitive and same story lines over and over.
I love Beck and listen to him every day. Although sometimes, I get kind of depressed after listening to him, but I’d rather know what is happening, than stick my head in the sand and be taken by surprise. It’s no wonder so many are attacking Beck...he’s so on point.
I usually start my day with the local guys in Phx - Barry Young and Michella-Carella-Buffy-Lee-Larson (on 550KFYI) and then switch to internet streaming of Limbaugh and then Beck.
I can’t STAND Savage. Haven’t ever listened to Levin.
Hannity is so - so, and Beck is somewhat good; but O’Reilly is an obnoxious motormouth who interrupts, who won’t let guests finish sentences.
Disagree....Hannity and his repetitive style fits nicely into the spectrum. He keeps bringing up questions, pointing out inconsistencies....dare I say, like Al Gore used to when he was VP...
Remember how Gore unraveled Jack Kemp in the VP debates? No matter what Kemp said, Gore mantra’d back, “it will blow a hole in the deficite, it will cost jobs, it is too risky...etc..”
Hannity keeps the pressure on the front line things that need to still be drilled as the MSM will let them go if they don’t favor their darling Obama....Beck, Levin, and even Rush can do the heavy trend analysis for us....Hannity is good on the tactical, the Beck/Levin/Rush group is our strategic arm.
Glenn Beck is miles ahead of every other conservative commentator in his analysis of how we got to where we are and why. He is fascinating in his persuasive powers to convey just what this dictator in chief is up to and why we should be very afraid of Obama/Hitler. The likenesses are striking and we would do well to heed Beck and listen very carefully to how he comes to his cogent conclusions.
His favorite new word is caliphate.
I listen to Beck while working on the garden, and catch his television show if the subject matter interests me...I can actually LEARN something from Beck, who has a crack research staff.
LOL!
In my radio market (Dallas - Ft Worth) Hannity is the only game in town between the hours of 2PM and 5PM. Michael Medved is on a competing radio station, but he’s even harder to listen to.
For what it’s worth, my impression of Sean is that his heart is in the right place, but he’s dismally naive for someone in his position. The number of RINOs and phony conservatives he constantly rotates on his show give me fits. I mean, c’mon...Newt Gingrich three times a week? Give me freaking break.
And then, there’s the fact that the man is a motor mouth, who doesn’t seem to have the capacity to rein himself in. He had Michele Bachmann on yesterday, and forced her to listen to a two minute clip he wanted her opinion on. When he finally shut up and let her talk, the segment was just about over. I don’t think she got in more than a few sentences the whole time. What a total waste of her valuable time.
Normally, I just keep Sean on in the background between Rush and Levin. If there were anyone better to listen to during his show, I turn the dial.
The same reason that some wouldn't be fond of Elmer Gantry.
And, BTW, is Beck still putting little magnetic pictures of Anita Dunn on a chalkboard every other show? Also did he ever get any advertisers that don't push Medicare giveaways or gold coins?
