Battle: Los Angeles is one of those movies and geeks and nerds have dreamed about their entire lives. What would it be like if an alien force came to earth, was openly hostile, and the war began? How would we fight?
This is a war movie, in the truest sense. Its closest Hollywood analogue would have to be Black Hawk Down...which says a lot about this current film. This is not Will Smith in Independence Day, happily flying around killing bad aliens. This is war, in it grittiest Hollywood iteration.

Seems more on the lines of ‘Skyline’ - a terrible movie.
Independence Day is an incredibly stupid movie. I'm amazed that there actually are some intelligent people who like it.
Sweet. I am there!
Some movies are just fun and become good rainy Saturday afternoon popcorn movies with the kids.
Roger only likes movies that diss conservatives.
As a Former Marine I enjoyed this elongated commercial for the Marine Corp.
;-)
It was ok. No character development, but lots of good action, gunfire and explosions. I guess Hueys were cheaper to get and use than Blackhawks or do the Marines still use Hueys?
He also dislikes any movie where men act like men.
My son was telling me that that several of the people who worked on the special effects on Battle:LA left that film part of the way through to work on Skyline. Now, of course, there are lawsuits flying backnforth between the two sides.
My 11yr old an I liked it!
Independence Day was only huge because of the CGI at the time and the popularity of Will Smith. The movie is HORRIBLE. I mean really freaking terrible.
I personally think one of the best disaster films of all time is Twister. I can watch that movie a million times and never get tired of it. I was kinda hoping for a sequel with the original cast but don’t see it happening.
Saw it on the early evening showtime and there was a large crowd lined up. I actually wanted to see Drive Angry with Nic Cage, and had to promise my GF she can bring me to any stupid chick movie she wants (I may regret that) but it was damn worth the money.
Just the US Marine Corps saving the worthless city of Los Angeles where I live. 2 thumbs up for an American movie with no libtardism crap which is extremely rare...great sex scene too LOL
A good change from James Cameron’s crapatar.
Saw it Friday eve late show. Great crowd. Great movie showing character of the Marines.
The 15 user reviews on IMBD prior to that time pretty much gave bad reviews so my expectations were lowered. However, except for too much use of hand held camera work, and the usual depiction of alien technologies as being basically advanced versions of our own with the same sort of vulnerabilities, it was an enjoyable and thrilling action ride. A popcorn movie that surprisingly portrayed the military in a positive light. FX’s were great too.
As a resident of southern California, it was kick seeing LA destroyed (again.) Seeing the one shot of the wave swamping the beach the day after the Japanese tsunami was a bit unsettling but all in all I got my money's worth.
Oh. That movie.
I thought this was about Battle for Los Angeles on SyFy last evening. It was bad. Cliche.
When Ninja Nia Peoples showed up and stabbed the invader flying machine with her samari sword, that was way beyond jumping the shark.
I saw it last night and enjoyed it very much. The crowd did as well. I go into these movies understanding what they are, which is an entertainment vehicle.
