For those of you who still think ObamaCare is a good idea, heres how its affecting my family at the very moment Im writing this
My 90 year-old mother has taken ill. High fever (103), throwing up, weakness, spasmodic cough and significant respiratory issues. Her neighbor took her to the ER. The doctor says that "due to the changes in Medicare under ObamaCare" (the doctor's own words) he could not admit her into the hospital, even though he thought she should be admitted.
Kicked out of the hospital, even though shes also a heart patient. Kicked out of the hospital, even though she runs a risk of developing pneumonia.
Would anyone like to try convincing me at this point that the rumors of death panels within ObamaCare are false? Before the new rules took effect, she'd have been admitted without question. We're getting a nurse to stay with her so that (hopefully) she gets proper care.
Those of you who pray, please pray for my mom.

At this point I do not know the Dr’s name. I live out of state. And I’m protecting my mother’s privacy.
Most definately will do - would be interesting info for many here at FR.....
Thank you very much. Yes, it would be good information. obama is trying to slip obamacare through the basement door.

I’m also studying the issue. I do know of one person, a close acquaintance, who got dumped by BCBS the moment he turned 65. He’d never missed a pmt but once he hit “Medicare Age” his insurance was no longer interested in his business.
Wonder at what point they “bend” the curve. Death panels for sure. Wish we had an “information” conduit to get these kinds of things to Sarah Palin. This is a real live example of what obamacare is doing to elder Americans.
I thought ObamaCare didn’t kick in for another 4 years. They’re just collecting taxes for it now.

A lot of the new rules are being phased in now, in spite of Judge Vinson’s ruling.

Seniors appear to be a major target for precious resources under the Obama healthcare plan. According to the Congressional Budget Office, the Obama plan cuts nearly $500 billion in Medicare benefits to seniors as the federal government adds 30 million uninsured Americans to private and public healthcare systems.
The cost of caring for the elderly has not been lost on Berwick.
The chronically ill and those towards the end of their lives are accounting for potentially 80 percent of the total health care bill out here . . . there is going to have to be a very difficult democratic conversation that takes place, he said.
Welcome to Mengelecare.
Thank you, President Ubama.
So elderly Americans, the greatest generation, have to roll over and die so that illegals can be covered?????
this! Must! Not! Stand!!!!
Prayers up!
they’ve gutted Medicare so bad few of us Seniors will have health care. Medicare is rationed health care any way.
they have driven up the cost of medicine, hospital care with lawsuits.
Well it’s only underfunded long term by $72 trillion.
Won’t the tax receipts from the current Baraqqi Boom make that up in a few yrs?
Medicare does not pay for long term care in a NH. They will pay for 90 days IF you have been in the hospital for 3 days. Sounds like the ER physician does not believe she needs to be admited to a Acute Care Hospital bed. Could they do this anyway ——Yes. But Medicare may not pay the bill. Could they some how make this work where Medicare will pay. Absolutely. And I am not talking about lying.
