Memo to Democrats: It's time to end the Wisconsin Insurrection
examiner.com ^ | 2/19/2011 | Joe Newby

Dictionary.com defines insurrection as "an act or instance of rising in revolt, rebellion, or resistance against civil authority or an established government."

"Insurrection" aptly defines what is happening in Wisconsin.

Worse yet, the chief executive officer of the nation - President Obama - appears to tacitly approve of the insurrection. His campaign arm - Organizing for America, and the Democratic National Committee - are involved in planning and supporting the insurrection, even going so far as to bus protesters in an effort to undermine the lawful government of that state.

Thousands of protesters - many carrying signs comparing Governor Scott Walker to Adolf Hitler - stormed the Capitol in an effort to shut down the legislature. This is not a mere redress of grievance; this is outright revolt.

All 14 Senate Democrats have fled to parts unknown to prevent a vote on a bill meant to keep the state solvent.

The Wall Street Journal reports that the AWOL Democrats plan to remain out of the state until the governor caves in to their demands:

"When we go back is ultimately up to the governor's willingness to sit down and talk about this and come up with some sort of resolution," said Sen. Jon Erpenbach, who fled with 13 colleagues on Thursday to deprive Republicans of the needed quorum to pass the measure. He spoke by phone from a Chicago hotel, where he planned to stay Friday night.

But Governor Walker has had enough of the Democrats antics. According to a post at Hot Air, the Governor is playing hardball with the Senators:

“The protesters have every right to have their voices heard, but I’m not going to be intimidated into thinking I should ignore the voices of the five-and-a-half million taxpayers,” said Republican Gov. Scott Walker…

Americans who, in 2008, voted for abstract, fill-in-the-blanks concepts of "hope" and "change" might have dug a little deeper into the philosophy upon which those concepts were based. They might have explored the associations and the voting record of the one who promised, instead of substituting their own hopes and dreams for his illusory promises.

The ideas of Mao, Marx, and Lenin, implemented with the strategies of Alinsky, cannot be expected to yield liberty, opportunity, and plenty. On the other hand, a pledge of return to the principles of liberty expressed in America's Declaration of Independence, the 1787 Constitution, and the 200-year history of American freedom, accompanied by a record of study of those ideas and a voting record which supported the promise, would have been a better foundation for measuring a leader worthy of the role.

"I am for a government rigorously frugal and simple, applying all the possible savings of the public revenue to the discharge of the national debt; and not for a multiplication of officers and salaries merely to make partisans, and for increasing by every device the public debt on the principle of its being a public blessing." --Thomas Jefferson to Elbridge Gerry, 1799. As the Wall Street Journal pointed out, campaign contributions by government-sector unions, collected through mandatory dues, help elect the public officials who are then supposed to negotiate with them: “The unions sit, in effect, on both sides of the bargaining table.”

It seems like government salaries and benefits could simply be tied to some essential economic indicator or relative to private sector income.

Say, is that anything like when the Mafia extorts protection money from you to protect you from the Mafia? Why wouldn’t RICO apply here... I’m sure with just a little investigation, it can be shown that union bosses have used mobster tactics and even committed mobster style crimes to achieve their political power and personal wealth... hell, the President himself acts like a mobster kingpin...

“Wow! Insurrection? Looks to me like the libs want all-out civil war.” —————

Their behavior is a gift to conservatives! They are losing in the court of public opinion, single handedly destroying Obama’s chances for re-election, proving to be everything the conservatives said they were and imploding from within the union.

When your opposition is busy setting themselves on fire, we must NOT interfere. What a gift!

The Wall Street Journal reports that the AWOL Democrats plan to remain out of the state until the governor caves in to their demands:

I was wrong, I admit.

I've always thought that all Democrats -- and all who vote for them -- were intellectually adolescent.

Now I see that they're actually infantile.

...O.K. with me.....lets get it on.

..the fact is that the only way some situations can get resolved is extreme force.

If we are to be a nanny, socialist, big govt, perpetually broke, tyranny country, lets find out by fighting it out......the sooner the better.

Here is an "oldie but goody"...not out an out CWII, but a more peaceful solution:

It's Time to Part Company

Hurrah for the Republic of Texas....

I know, isn’t it wonderful! This is called self destructing.
The Independents who will decide the next election will be remembering this, everything they are seeing, seered into their brain, that Obama was on the side of unions/marxist-communists/socialism, and sent in the DNC, the OFA to generally orchestrate the chaos.

The Tea Party set the standard in behavior, so you see this crowd of communists are well behaved having been told to not harm the historic structure of the Capitol nor its grounds. Notable, but Independents are said to be turning against the union 3 to 1, according to Frank Luntz, Republican pollster.

Impeaching them does no good. They need a 2/3 majority for that.
