Charles Krauthammer on Friday tore into the liberal media for being obsessed with former Alaska governor Sarah Palin.
After Krauthammer scolded the "editorial judgment" of the producers of PBS's "Inside Washington" for week after week prominently displaying her as the "only representative of conservatism of any importance" in this nation, the Washington Post's Colby King proved his point (video follows with transcript and commentary):

Obama will be the candidate.
He has already unleashed his DOJ thugs on Hillary’s big money donors in New York and Connecticut as a message to her other potential supporters.
These “insider trading” investigations are being used to keep her big dollar Wall Street supporters on the sidelines for the next 2 years.
Obama will be the candidate and Sarah will beat him.
Quayle didn’t fight back like Sarah does, but he also didn’t have the new media to do it. However, I doubt if he would have been able to use the new media to his advantage. Sarah has not been Quayled, in fact, the reverse has happened. The attacks on her have made her stronger and a LOT more popular. Because of the attacks she is now one of the most influential and powerful private citizens in the U.S. and maybe the world. Quayle withered into oblivion never to return. There is absolutely NO comparison.
The country is much more leftist than it was in 1977.
I don’t disagree with you that it would be nice to have a “new” face of conservatism to run. The issue is that the MSM will do exactly the same thing to any new, emerging front runner as they did to Palin.
Recall the interviews before the 2008 election: Palin was basically on quiz shows in every interview, having to prove that she knew who the head of state of Morocco in the 14th century was. Obama would get asked “how does it feel?”, “what does Michele think?”. It’s sickening.
So, my mind’s not made up, but maybe it’s better to power through with Palin. They still attack her because they know she’s a threat.
Whoever we choose, we had better all get behind them. We have to get this country back on track.
you may be right but there are a lot of people who are trying to define her.
Sure Hope you are right
Imagine how much money she could make in a minute if everytime someone thought of her, she earned a penny. I’d bet it would be at least a million bucks and hour.
First Christine O’Donnell, now Guv Palin.
Methinks, Charles has an issue with women.
In 2008, we bitched and moaned because we believed the media and crossover liberal voters picked our candidate -- which left us with John McCain...and a case of nausea.
So, now, you propose to the let the media do the same: pick our candidate for us.
There is a reason why the enemy has spent so much time and effort demonizing Ms. Palin. It's because they're scared ____less of her. Note that little effort has been expended on Messrs. Romney, Huckabee, Pawlenty, et al.
Shouldn't that tell us something...???
Sarah hasn’t kissed Charles’ “Ring of the Beltway Media Elites” and asked for his blessing on bended knee. That’s why he doesn’t like the wall-to-wall coverage of her.
"Go Mitt. Go Mitt. Go Mitt.
"Rove is pushing Romney so aggressively some folks are beginning to wonder what's going on," grumbled one veteran Republican strategist."
"Rove has made no secret of his support for Romney as McCain's VP. "
Please define overexposed? Sounds like a cliche that is supposed to have some meaning when you run for President of the United States, what is OVERexposed?
Pray for America
“Blaming that on Sarah is nothing more then a cop out.”
Baloney. Sarah is attracting the greater share of public attention and frittering away her chances.
Palin Derangement Syndrome is effecting her supporters too.
Winning is the only thing that counts.
“Cmon folks I am tired from reading all the reasons why Sarah can’t win, who are you rooting for?”.......
Excellent question. I ask that here on FR, and I hear, vaguely.... Romney(NO!) ... Mitch .... Huck (sigh) ...... Tim ...... Newt....
Not ONE of these men can generate enough enthusiasm to get elected dog catcher right now .... not in a nation wide election. Besides, they all appear to be WIMPS..... letting the ‘GIRL’ get out there and take all the heat. When do you EVER hear of ANY of these men confronting O about the path of destruction he has us on! When???
Nope, Sarah Palin is the only one with the guts to dive into the fight NOW.... to try to influence..... to HOLD BACK some of the massive damage being inflicted on each and everyone of us.
So, some of you are getting sick of seeing her in the news. She’s ruining her chances..... You don’t like the and sound of her voice.. (she’s a girl, a WOMAN, and that’s what she sounds like.. sheesh) But who the he!! else is OUT THERE willing to FIGHT for this country? Really, who???
Believe it or not, I AM willing to consider another name.... but, realistically.... WHO?? If there is someone else they need to get out there.... and STOP back stabbing Sarah Palin and BEGIN targeting Obama!
pattyjo (must relax.....must relax.....breathe, patty, breathe)
“Please define overexposed?”
She’s on Fox as a commentator and on that dope Hannity’s radio show practically everyday. Then there’s her reality show whose purpose escapes me. Then the kid is on dancing...then she picks a feud with Barbara Bush. Enough already.
>> I hope Haley Barbour runs. Hes got the right stuff. <<
I’m with you all the way. Gov. Barbour may have the savviest political mind in the USA. He already knows every trick in the book, not only all the dirty tricks the MSM and the Dhimmis would use against him, but also the “honorable tricks” the GOP should employ.
And just like Gov. Christie of NJ, he’ll be able to make a virtue out of his “fat-man” image. The mud flung his way by the MSM will slide off his portly frame like water off the back of a duck!
But not only that:
Barbour may be the best hope for uniting all wings of the GOP — thereby avoiding the bitter internecine recriminations that inevitably would follow the near-certain defeat in Nov. 2012 of a Palin or a Romney.
(By the way, I think Huckabee also would be able to unite the various GOP factions and probably would be able to win an election against the Annointed Øne in 2012. He’d definitely have my vote in the General Election. But based on his record in Arkansas, I imagine Huck would be a mediocre-to-terrible POTUS — whereas Barbour’s record as Governor of Mississippi is absolutely sterling, one that indicates he’d be an excellent POTUS.)
Barbour for president!
OK there’s at least two of us who think so...now all we have to do is convince Haley...
I think Barbara Bush picked a fight with her? She’s selling her name and who can blame her. When the election comes around she has 100% name recognition and an army of fans. Kinda every candidates dream.
That way we will be sure that you are, in fact, suffering from butt-itis.
You think the number of post here is large? Go over to, or take my word for it if you already showered, the Huffington Post - 15K+ comments on Palin’s “North” Korea slip of the tounge.
I don’t care who the (R) candidate is. As long as they see clearly that most of the rest of the world is trying their best to bring this country down to their level.
