Charles Krauthammer on Friday tore into the liberal media for being obsessed with former Alaska governor Sarah Palin.
After Krauthammer scolded the "editorial judgment" of the producers of PBS's "Inside Washington" for week after week prominently displaying her as the "only representative of conservatism of any importance" in this nation, the Washington Post's Colby King proved his point (video follows with transcript and commentary):

The amount of Palin posts, even here, seems to have reached DefCon 5. Palinmania is peaking.
Please supply all the details using the handy form above.
Cheers!
The key here is that the Democrats know that thirty percent of Republicans will not vote for Palin under any circumstance (similar to the same group who would not vote for McCain under any circumstance). The entire 2012 election campaign for Obama is dependent on Palin being the candidate...and thus easily beaten. Krauthammer is correct in that they really are focused on getting her name out. Take a look at the Washington Post over the past four months...almost weekly reports on Palin. Go over to NBC, CBS and ABC...they still report at least once a week on Palin. Go over to MSNBC, and it’s hour by hour that they report on Palin. They know who they want in November of 2012.
We need to keep pushing our representatives to defund PBS/NPR. I’m tired of funding progressive causes.
“Palinmania is peaking.”
I think you’re right. Sarah is over exposed. I hate the phrase but she is damaging her brand.
The MSM vs Palin has taken a new turn with her attacks on the lame stream media. She’s stinging them.
I hope Haley Barbour runs. He’s got the right stuff.
What about the 90% of Republicans who would never vote for ROMNEY?
I'd get banned for posting what I'm thinking.
EXACTLY, media is doing all they can to make Palin the nominee against dumbo. For the life of me I can’t understand the attraction people have to Palin.
The media is manipulating the nation. How did Juan McCain come from way back and almost broke, sure to drop out to become the nominee in about 3 short weeks? Why did Romney suddenly drop out?
Why have we not heard reports about how relatively vacant the airports were this holiday. Family accounts are that the airports were sparsely populated. All the media has reported is that “things went smoothly”. I saw none of the traditional reports of crushing crowds of holiday travelers. Did any of you?
So you think Duncan Hunter has a better chance of winning in 2012 since his brand is NOT overexposed?
Seriously, which conservative specifically has a better overall chance of winning in 2012 than Sarah in your opinion?
She is over exposed because she is the only conservative who will say what she means and mean what she says. Whens the last time these metrosexual conservatives have ever said anything provokitive? The liberal media is obcessed with palin and if they can’t bad mouth her they pick on her kids what a couragous bunch of people.
Common all you other conservative politicians step up to the plate so we can see who you are or does Sarah have to show you how to be a man?
Almost weekly reports? I can't remember the last time I looked at the Washington Post or New York Times and not found some reference to Sarah Palin. They are obsessed with her. She is everything they abhor in a woman.
“They know who they want in November of 2012.”
Really. If she is so easy to beat, why not hold your fire until she is safely nominated and then unload on her (which is exactly what they intend to do to Mittens and Huckster and Newt in the event they are nominated)?
the Fact is they have fired all their ordinance at her, and she is still the likely GOP nominee.
She’ll be easy to beat, you say? Which McCain states from 2008 will she lose to Obama? How is Obama looking in Ohio, Virginia, North Carolina, Florida and Indiana, all states he carried in 2008 but which are out of his reach now, based upnon the polls and the 2010 midterms.
The elitist Krauthammer, former Fritz Mondale spechwriter and Jimmy Carter staffer, is embarrassed by Palin. I heard him yesterday on Bret Baier advising the GOP and the Tea Party to shelve the social issues in 2012, exactly the opposite strategy that Regan employed and advocated as far back as his 1977 speech to CPAC. Palin is not going to shelve the social issues. And she is a woman who is more powerful and gets more attention than any man. Neither of these realities is tolerable to Krauthammer.
She gets attention because she commands attention.
Yah, just like Sarah Palin was going to go into obscurity when she resigned from AK governor. LOL! The pathetic PDS crowd never learns. Then again, they cannot think clearly over their absolute hatred for Palin, even if clear thinking and a calm reasoned approach would put Sarah back into obscurity. They are insanely driven to bash her regardless of their best interests and that keeps her in the limelight and then she grows stronger when she responds back and ridicules them.
For Palin fans, this is really fun to watch and it will even get funner as those that hate her grow more insane.
“Why did Romney suddenly drop out?”
Because he is liberal scum sucking POS that was getting his a$$ kicked at the polls?
They won't tell you paulycy, they never tell you they just bitch about Palin. C’mon folks I am tired from reading all the reasons why Sarah can't win, who are you rooting for?
Your points about Romney and McCain in 2008 are valid reasons why it’s just a pointless waste of time and bandwidth to speculate about this crap now. Sarah Palin is a private citizen who’s engaging in that great American pastime of CAPITALISM! That’s about all that can be said with certainty.
Meanwhile. I like that Butthurt form, and now realize that anyone who disagrees is just a big mean poopy pants ;-)
Take a deep breath. I am pro Palin and defend her every time I get a chance.
I’m just saying she’s over exposed. If she has ambitions, she should dial it back some.
There are other conservative voices in the new Congress. Let them emerge.
